Jermaine Grisham

So people thought i was just crazy to pick him up in the draft as my TE, but there was a lot of strategy and thought behind it.

I'm always looking for those behind the scene players, the guys who those fantasy pros don't even find.

I followed this guy a bit in college and was surprised to see him taken by the Bengals in the draft. They have never been a huge TE pass happy team.

With their added threats to WR, Benson having a great year, and Palmer taking the next step i can't see Jermaine having a bad year. In fact my predictions are very large for him. He is going to go under the radar on Defenses until he starts making big plays, and it's to late by then anyways.

I don't think the Bengals would of picked the best pass catching TE in the draft with their first round pick if they didn't intend in using him.

What does everybody else think? Am i just crazy to think this or a few people agree?

I hate to admit it but Gresham could have a pretty big season. However, I wouldn't trust him as my #1 TE, even in a larger league.

I had Gresham, but I cut him loose. I like the potential he has down in Cincy, but I was looking for someone a little more proven as my back-up tight end. He definitely can have a big rookie season. Although even if he doesn't, I expect him to eventually become a top-notch tight end in the future.

I don't think any of the fantasy pros are sleeping on Gresham. But I wouldn't draft him to be a #1 TE. Risk players are better suited in a back up role. Gresham is still a risk player with upside.

1) He is still a rookie
2) He plays on a run first team (don't tell me that the Bengals brought in Owens to change that)
3) Carson has not used a a TE regularly ever in the NFL. His first looks will probably still be WRs.
4) There are a lot of players on the team where the ball has to be shown.

Gresham will make a fine #2. But he's still too much a risk with all the other TE's out there to be drafted as a #1

Ok, ok. Guess u all convinced me to drop him and pick up another. yes i was using him as my #1.
I am leaning toward Z. Miller but open to any suggestions you may have. These are some of the top FA guys (names that i at least know) available.

Zach Miller, Oak TE
John Carlson, Sea TE
Greg Olsen, Chi TE
Kevin Boss, NYG TE
Dustin Keller, NYJ TE
Fred Davis, Was TE
Tony Scheffler, Det TE
Marcedes Lewis, Jac TE
Benjamin Watson, Cle TE
Todd Heap, Bal TE
Anthony Fasano, Mia TE

From that list I would choose Zach Miller or John Carlson over Gresham.

Campbell has stuck to Miller like a fly on flypaper. Plus we all know what Campbell did with Chris Cooley. Zach Miller could very well be a fantasy TE stud this year.

Carlson also has a lot of promise. I think he'll put up career numbers for him this year, especially if Hassleback can stay healthy.

Thanks so much for the advice, appreciate the time :)

No problem. There's a few of us on here that love talking fantasy football. If you ever have a question or situation, feel free to ask, we love to talk!

Make sure you keep tabs on Gresham though. Because he will go fast if he starts to spark.

yea, will do. It kinda hurt to drop him, when i have a good gut feeling i tend to stick with it. Nothing a few games won't unfold tho.

I have heard some fantasy guys really love him, and others temper their expectations.

He could end up being a top TE this year. He's big w/ great hands. Personally I'd like to wait and see how he pans out over the first few games. I'd feel safer with having Zach Miller as my starting TE going into the season.

But Fantasy Football is all about personal preferences and gut feelings. Another man's garbage is another man's treasure.

I'll second PuRock's sentiments on Zach Miller. I have him as my starting TE in both leagues and fully expect him to be this year's Brent Celek. The Raiders don't have a WR who'll take many targets away from him and Campbell loves throwing to TEs.

Honestly, you can't really go wrong with Miller. One of the top receiving tight ends in the league. Sadly, he's suffered from Oakland's revolving door of quarterbacks over the years. Campbell may not be a superstar quarterback, but he's a huge step up from what they've had lately. Add in (as mentioned earlier) Campbell's tendency to throw to tight ends, and Miller could end up having a huge year.

You guys are starting to get me worried. I dropped Miller to pick up Grisham. But, I have Antonio Gates, so I just need another TE for the bye week. :P

That's a bad move in my opinion. I would have tried to ship off Miller(dare I say Gates) for a RB or WR with upside.
