MD/Navy Game Tailgating

3 posts in this topic

I have two parking passes in Lot H for the Md/Navy Game on Sept 6th. What is this lot like for tailgating? Can we use one pass to park our vehicle and the other to set up out tailgate stuff? The passes are numbered so I assume they are numbered spots? Are open alcohol containers ok? Any other advise you can give me would be appreciated. We have a group of 11 coming so iy should be a great time. GO TERPS !!

Not sure about H lot, but if you are of age and not being uh a jerk drinking is fine. No containers allowed in the stadium but you can take food in a clear bag.
I know In J lot if you have 2 passes you may use one to set up your stuff. Make sure you lock up your stuff when you go into the stadium.

The numbering on the passes is likely meaningless. The most popular spots in September warmth are under the I-395 viaducts, for shade. Lot H is OK for grills, but please dump coals in the red barrels (two years ago, a Steelers fan placed live coals in his trunk after tailgating at FedEx Field, blowing up his vehicle plus those of six neighbors).

Lot H is also a great spot to rendezvous with others who are taking the Light Rail. A few years ago, the MTA finally bowed down to the wishes of the tailgaters by opening the access doors from the Stadium Light Rail Staion directly into Lot H, so anyone joining you after riding Light Rail would be only seconds away.

Other advice would be to have a great time and avoid getting into fights with opposing fans -- they could be your neighbors. I thought that the 2005 game crowd was about 1/3rd Maryland, 1/3rd Navy, 1/3rd both/neither/neutral.
