First Cut Is In...

I admit I was a Dutch fan. He looked solid in the few preseason games so far.

I think they were going to cut John Beck anyways. So they got some practice fodder in the meanwhile. I wouldn't be surprised if the Redskins brought in another veteran QB and cut Beck if we wanted him.

It could be. They did cut Dutch early today, maybe they are working on something. The Texans did cut Bennett (CB) yesterday.

I didn't think Dutch was going to make the roster but I thought he'd be one of the last cuts. Hopefully this means we're pretty confident about Webb's knee?

Bennett would be a good signing in my opinion. I doubt he'd be any worse than what we've seen from Travis Fisher.

I really thought that Fisher would've been cut before Dutch. Fisher has done enough to look just bad out there. He's helped to separate himself backwards.

I don't think any of us are surprised. We all knew that Dougie was a long shot. I think we are more surprised that:

1) He was cut before Fisher
2) He was cut a day earlier than the deadline (speculation as to why)
3) A CB was cut first

Fair enough. However remember this came from Twitter and therefore possibly the second Doug Douch left Harbaughs office. I haven't even read an article on this yet. It may have just worked out that he was the first and there are more to come today.

Sometimes players are cut "early" as a courtesy to give them the best chance of catching on with another team.

Figures. I definitely thought Fisher would be cut before him, but I guess there's a slight possibility that he might be one of the other four. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Eron Riley is one of the other four cuts .

I think they're thinking of putting in Haruki and Hamlin before they put in the 4th corner so they don't desperately need 5. I'd personally prefer us to have 5 active CBs.

I agree. I think they'd rather play a talented safety out of position like Haruki over an inexperienced young corner like Prince Miller. They proved it in the Giant game where Haruki was the 4th corner in the dime defense

he has a talent for being around the ball tho thats why he is on the field.

im hoping we keep miller because i kind of feel like hes going to be on those guys that get stashed on the PS and then another team grabs him an we need him later in the season. i know with webb, williams, carr, and washington we will have a soild cb tandem.

I like Miller too. He seems like another guy who got overlooked because of his size. I also think he makes the roster because of his punt return skills. With Stallworth injured, any other player we would have returning kicks would be a starter or major contributer (Zibby, Clayton). Seeing as how Stallworth was injured returning kicks and not on offense I don't see Harbaugh risking another quality player to injury on special teams.

This is a quote from the latest Ravens article: "To get under the NFL’s 75-man limit by Tuesday, the Ravens must only clear two more roster spots after placing center Daniel Sanders and safety Marcus Paschal on Injured Reserve."

They must have been on the active PUP. That being said, my 2 left to go are Brad Jones and Albert McClellan.

They will start trickling in slowly. Can happen at anytime today. We only have two players left that need to be released, traded or place on IR today.
