Ufa Bryant Johnson

6 posts in this topic

I would like to see the F.O. take a look at UFA Bryant Johnson, Arizona. At 6'3" 220 # he could be a good complement to our reciever corp. IMO he could be signed to a low end contract 2 maybe 3 Mil.

Yeah everything I've seen from Bryant Johnson makes me like him, he has good talent that hasn't been used in Arizona because he's competing of rplaying time with two All-Star WR, here he'd give us a physical presence with his size that would let Mason move to slot and work the inside; plus he'd get to come back to his home state of Maryland.

Why would you want Mason to move into the slow while hes playing amazing where hes at now. I would rather see Mason and Johnson on the outsides.

I Love MASON but...he takes up 4.4 mill in cap if we released him now we would save 1.6 in cap if we released him after june 1st 3.0 mill saved.

same with rolle..release him now save 1.7 against the cap, cut him after june 1st save 3.9

3.9+3.0= 6.9 cap to dip into free agency, maybe replace rolle with asante samuels, Deangelo HALL? and mason with bryant??

Bryant and williams on the outside and clayton at slot??

these guys arent getting any younger or CHEAPER........ MASON IS 34!! and Rolle will be 32!!

clayton needs more opportunities and should take over mason's roll CLAYTON is 25!!!

The main reason I would suggest that Mason be moved into the slot spot is that he is more a of possesion reciever now with his speed decreasing and by having him in the slot he can still use his quickness to avoid the safties and LBs that will be trying to guard him (like a Wes Welker-like situation) and this will let Johnson, Clayton, and Williams work the outside where their greater speed will help stretch the field, which would only open things up more for Mason and Heap inside.

DONT forget about Mark Clayton! he has taken back seat to mason's dump off passes the last 2 years. Mason is a leader in the huddle and expects to have the ball thrown to him which takes away from clayton

clayton is faster, more athletic, younger and can make more plays than mason, plus mason is aging and taking up a lot of cap. i agree mason would be ideal in the slot but if we aquired a bryant johnson or a speedy wr on the outside mason would have to compete with clayton and williams for number 2 +3 and looking into the future mason isnt gonna be a raven too much longer time to move forward with our younger guys and get them developed into allstars
