I've never really gotten into Madden. But Fifa, imo, is the most fun sports game there is. It constantly moving and constant strategy. The smallest details make all the differences in the world.

Theres a few problems, like sometimes Fifa passes where you don't want it to and in multi player mode, switch players is frustrating because you can't switch to who you want to all the time. But other than that I love this game. Thoughts?

I'll get into this conversation this weekend. I have Fifa rented and sitting at home, but its taken a back seat to Madden.

I've always like FIFA and scoring a goals gets me all riled up. Looking forward to giving this one a whirl.

The Be a pro mode is just plain sick. Its a thrill scoring. Its only fun to be a striker just for the record

The manager mode is fun too. Scouting and building a terrible team to be a 5 star team is just sick. Beautifully made game. The details of each movement and the difference position and angles make you feel and understand the crispness of the game.

Enjoy. I struggle playing games for a long time. But I've put over 70 hours into fifa. The multi player is so fun.

If you think the FIFA is good, I highly recommend you try the Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer series. I've been a fan since around '02. Licensing and the subtleties in presentation aside, it's superior to FIFA in every way in my opinion.

Read reports about Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer on IGN. They gave it lower ratings and said it was inferior to Fifa. But sometimes thats not always accurate. I know I have played games that are my personal favorites that have gotten terrible ratings from critics. Maybe I'll look into renting it and giving it a shot

I wouldn't put much stock into those ratings, especially when to comes to comparing FIFA and PES.

I just found this article which details the rivalry talks about their upcoming titles.

I heard PES gained a lot of ground in 2009 but then something happened between 2009 & 2010 to set the gameplay back from Fifa.

Yep. This article pretty much explains it. Link

Interesting. Sound like the gameplay is really different from each other. I really love Fifa so it will be hard to steal my heart away. But I really should give this other game a shot.

PES had been better up until '10. Fifa '10 is superior in every single way to PES '10.

I used to buy PES over Fifa just about every year but Fifa has come a looooong way while PES hasn't really progressed in the past couple of years. The licensing seems minor but it does get extremely irritating. The Manager mode in PES is pretty much garbage. In '10 Fifa managed to steal the edge in gameplay as well as all the features it had before. If you want to try PES, rent it. Be warned, though, it pales in comparison to Fifa.

If only there were an NFL version of PES EA may have actually tried to improve Madden.

If Fifa 11 carries on from 10 then PES may well end up dead in the water.

I thought on older Fifa's you could play the world cup with national teams. You can't do this anymore?

Is there no way of playing any game modes (non online) with a national team?

This Fifa game is sick. I finally put Madden 2011 to the side to play this, and now I'm hooked. The game is so real. It took me a while to score the first goal (I still think EA sports does this on purpose - because once I scored it I was hooked, it was that more sweeter).

Still wish there was a way to play with the national teams, maybe there is, but I haven't figured it out yet. I'm a casual soccer fans so I know some of the guys (especially the Premier league). But I'd rather play with the national teams.

Yeah I felt the same way at the beginning but I ended up liking playing with club teams more. The Fifa South Africa game is more internationally oriented. I heard the game style is a little better.

One problem with Fifa is the PK's and I heard they make it better in the South Africa game. But thats not that big of a problem though.

The only problem that I have with the game is in the 'career' mode, Players don't seem to grow in overall enough. Although I do like the billion dollar glitch, you can just about make a world XI with all the players you can buy.

Is online still full of rage quitters?
