7 Nba Trades That Should Happen

68 posts in this topic

The Wizards NEED to get Ginobili and Chris Wilcox. The Wiz starting lineup would be Arenas, Gino, Butler, Jamison and Wilcox.

WOO WOO!!

No, I want the magic to get wilcox. Or another good power forward.

that way 'shard can play where he is comfortable (SF), turk can shuffle down to guard, and we can have Evans covering 2 and 3, dooling covering both guard spots, and bogans covering 2 aswell. we could use some inside help for howard.

I'd care, but I don't live there so I don't have to live with the day-to-day boredom.

How'd you become a Magic's fan anyways?

Well, I was a knicks fan, until Isiah made racist comments, and after that I couldn't be bothered to put up with their crapness.

Rashard lewis was always one of my favourite players, before he moved to Orlando, as was Dwight howard.

So it just made sense that they would become my new favourite team.

Does he really?

No, I don't dislike him as much as Jon, but I don't think he's a good enough defender to be a success in the NBA.

Cavs get Big Ben, Wally Sczeribiak (sp?) and a couple of unknowns. I would've been happier with a guy like Jason Richardson I didn't feel we needed that much change.

with all these trades thats happened in the past month, it's getting more and more exciting to be an NBA fan again.

Same.

And with the post above, I think you're right. I think the Cavs would have been better off picking up a good shooting guard (like J-Rich) instead of a big man and a 3-spot shooter who shouldn't be starting. (as I said in the dump thread)

I'm just glad that Caron Butler-to-LA trade never happened.

Talk about handing a team the title.

yeah they got ariza instead from orlando, who obviously isn't a patch on Caron.

Well, I'm pretty sure it was 99% caused by the media having nothing to talk about. Mostly smoke.

Having delved further into the cleveland trade, I think the cavs really dropped the ball on this one:

Cavs get ...

Ben Wallace, F/C, from Bulls

Joe Smith, PF, from Bulls

Wally Szczerbiak, G/F, from Sonics

Delonte West, PG, from Sonics

2nd-round draft pick in 2009 from Bulls

Cavs lose...

Larry Hughes, G, from Cavaliers

Drew Gooden, PF, from Cavaliers

Cedric Simmons, PF, from Cavaliers

Shannon Brown, G, from Cavaliers

Ira Newble, SF, from Cavaliers

Donyell Marshall, F, from Cavaliers

I think that is a bad deal on the Cavs part. It is made worse by the fact Daniel Gibson(G) is out for most of the season.

now Delonte west will have to start at PG and he is average at best.

help inside wasn't an awful move, but they've left themselves seriously undermanned in the backcourt.

Only wallace of those who the Cavs acquired should be starting. but this trade will mean that three of them will likely start or get big minutes.

they lost a Good talent in larry hughes, even though he hasn't been great recently. They also lost a good player in Ira newble.

He doesn't get great stats, but he does the dirty work, outlet passes, putting his hand up on the shooter, setting screens. Like what varejao (sp?) does, but newble gets less credit.

and they lost Donyell marshall, by no means amazing, but he does Co-Hold the record for most 3s in a game with Kobe Bryant.

im guessing the lineup will be

Big Z C

Big Ben PF

King James SF

Wally B SG

Delonte West PG

boobie is going to be out for 6 weeks which is a crushing blow. too bad he was en fuego, and when he comes back he's probably going to be rusty. I hope he practices his shots wearing his cast!

I know he's listed as a C/F,but I'm not entirely sold on wallace's ability to play the 4 spot, especially on offense. With Z, atleast he has some (but limited) capacity to play an outside game.

I don't know if Wallace will be able to do anything offensively; if he's not down on the block.

If I were Cleveland, I would be starting varejao, and just bring on Ben when guarding a lead. Then again, If I was cleveland, I wouldn't have made the deal in the first place.

all Ben has to do is the dirty work which he is known for, rebounding, hustling, playing defense etc and leave the scoring to the rest. I wish they had gotten another capable scorer instead we got another spot up shooter.

you should sign Latrell Sprewell.

in his last pro season he averaged 18 points a game, despite limited minutes. He is a quality player.

If that Strangling thing didn't happen, he'd be seen as one of the all time best.
