First of all, I would like to say I respect all of you who stick with your teams through the thick and thin, and through the good and the bad. Unfortunately these teams don't really have any good. Which franchise is the hardest to be a fan for?

I picked the Cubs. Nobody has to go through that turmoil for a hundred years.

I was thinking Cubs too. And it doesn't look like it is going to get any better. But the Bills went to Super Bowl 4 years in a row and lost every single time. Thats just the worst thing I've ever heard.

My first thought was also the Bills. You have a good team and go to the superbowl 4 times in a row only to get spit in the face, sorry! Then followed by horrible, horrible years of football fueled by bad management decisions.

At least the Lions have never been good, per se. So they don't know what its like to win.

WOW! No votes for the Steelers!?!?!

I voted "other," as in New England Patriots.

think you may have understood wardy, not who we hate to cheer for but which team we love that's hard to cheer for because the stink i.e. my Orioles I.E. your Steel...er I mean Pirates!
So there is my vote, the Orioles been a die hard fan since I was 8.These last 13 have been rough.Cubs at least have had some winning seasons. Not everyone can win the Series so I don't go by that. But to be one of 4 teams to go to the playoffs in their respected league is still an accomplishment

My choice is the Pirates - it is hard to believe that this once-proud team has had to go through so much over the years, and I still hold out hope on occasion that this team will, somehow, recover and make a good season.

As for the comments concerning the Lions, I should state that the Lions were once a good team, winning championships in the early and late fifties.

Buffalo Bills. I mean it sucks enough that you have to live in Buffalo, but to make it to the Super Bowls and never win during the Jim Kelly days is just nauseating. Also they are in a division where they will probably never win the division because there are better owners, better front office and better coaches.

I voted the Clippers. They are the worst NBA franchise ever and have barely sniffed the playoffs in the past 25-30 years. They also play in the same city AND arena as arguably the greatest NBA franchise ever. They consistently draft poor and can't get any free agents worth anything.

I can see the Pirates and Orioles getting votes also but I don't see how you can vote for the Bills or Cubs; at least they've won a playoff series in the last 20 years and even the Bills got to 4 straight Super Bowls. The Cubs had some success for a bit when Prior and Wood didn't suck and before Dusty Baker ruined their arms. The Clippers have basically nothing..

I think it's the Browns because Cleveland has nothing to offer in regards to sports right now. With the Cavs (now without James) and Indians sharing the city, residents of Cleveland are forced to look towards the Browns and Mike Holmgren. The fact that no Cleveland team can consistently deliver is sad. At least L.A. has the Lakers and Dodgers, Chicago has the Blackhawks, Bulls, and Bears, and Baltimore has the Ravens. Without any hope in Cleveland, more pressure is placed on the Browns...and the fact that they never deliver makes it that much more depressing. Godspeed, Cleveland.

Being from the Pittsburgh area, my vote also went to the Pirates. Even around here, people are "ashamed" to be Pirate fans. Oh well, at least the town has the [s]Steelers[/s] Penguins. :P
