Bart Scott Says He Thinks Mcnair Can Get It Done

8 posts in this topic

today on NFL Live bart scott said that he thought the ravens really needed to concentrate on protecting "steve" as best as possible. as soon as he was done saying that he was asked why he said steve and if he believes mcnair is the man for the job. he responded "oh yes, definitely" and went on explaining his opinion. looks like steve still, at the very least, has the support of some of the veterans on the team. that's an even stronger statement coming from a defensive player!

Last year when asked about Troy Smith he said that he gets excited everytime he Troy steps on the field. I wouldnt put to much weight on what any of the Ravens players say because for the most part they are a classy bunch. And if they didnt think Steve could do it, I wouldnt expect them to say that to the media. But thats not to say that Scott doesnt really feel that Steve is the best man for the job.

its always a good thing to have the continual support of your teammates to fall back on when you really need it most of all. and i think that if the players are saying it, (and by players i mean the whole team, not just 1 or 2) then i think we all should listen.....there's a HUGE difference as to what we as fans watching thr game, see on the field, as compared to what his teammates and coaches and the people around him virtually EVERY day see in him and see what he's really all about. and like i said earlier in other posts....McNair can perform Well when everything is going right, as would any other quarterback in the league would do. heck its just common sense and logic....When your counterparts are playing poorly or not to their full potential and to the point we ALL know they are capable of doing, then your the performance or final product will show it for sure, but when everything is going well and everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing, then we will in fact, see the Benefits and see positive production for our team in the end. ultimately helping our team towards that of Victory.

I agree with you. I like Steve always have. How long do you think he has left? Maybe 2 years? I just don't understand why our Ravens have so much problams with QB's. I say Dillfer put a Hex on them after he left!! LOL ( I was sad to see Trent go)

This makes sense, because when has Bart Scott ever done us wrong? Except for the whole throwing the flag thing during the Pats game, of course.

I'm not sure Dillfer was all that great either, defense and special teams gave him alot of help. I think we were qb cursed before that. He followed the time honored ex-raven qb gets 10x better.

People are writing off McNair too soon. If he's healthy, he's our best shot to cover the position and get back to 13-3ish territory until Troy or someone else gets up to speed. The problem being the alternative very few drafted qbs get to start right away and produce immediately. Its a position that doesn't translate 100% from college to pro.

We need to make sure or OL is healthy to protect him. Even Tom "Terrific" Brady didn't look so perfect after his OL started to fall apart from injuries and fatigue.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this considering there are like 10 topics about next years qb haha but on today's espn NFL page, theres a interview with Bart Scott and when asked about the qb situation the first thing he says is, "I'm a big Troy Smith fan. I'm a fan of Boller as well but I think Troy came in and did a great job." He mentions McNair could pull a Brett Favre but it seems he wants Troy to succeed. It seems like Troy has really impressed alot of players on the team. It will be interesting to watch.

i honestly dont think that our Quarterbacks that either are or have been on this team have not really worked out in our "old" system simply because, Billick was trying to work in a new system in which be had high hopes for and as a end result, the Quarterback's overall performance had suffered. and thus marked why there hasnt been a steady, mainstay at our Quarterback position. I believe that now, at this present time and in the future, with Cam being the Successful Offensive Guy that has gotten him thus far with everything. i truly Believe that he can turn things around for our offense can make it one force to be respected. all you honestly have to do is look at his past and what he's come in and done for ALL the offenses (both at the College AND Professional Level) to know we have a great guy, whom knows what he's doing.
