Super Bowl Win This Year?

Who are the best Ravens best DB's?
Don't get me wrong and start bashing me but this is the weekness the Ravens have. Yes they played bend but do not break defense against the skins. Giving up just 3 points is terrific, a outstanding job looking at the final score. But if you watch the whole game it's very obvious the Redskins' offense was able to move the football down the field vie the pass. Some QB mistakes (over/under throws and INT) by Mcnabb was the downfall for the Redskins. McNabb is known to be inconsistant at times.
Now of course the Ravens defense toughen up and were able to make some key stops but are they going to be able to do that against the Saints, Patriots, Steelers or Bengals?

Reed, Webbb, Foxworth and Fabian are the best DBs. Obviously Foxworth is out for the year, I think Fabian only played one series Saturday night, Ed is doubtful for Week 1 and Webb is coming off a serious injury.

The Ravens are consistently among the best red-zone defense so I don't doubt they do the same against the teams you mentioned.

On Comcast (their website's home page), I read that we are predicted as #1 to win the Super Bowl, (Colts are #2 haha!) do you agree with the prediction?
...ahh sounds so nice doesn't it? I think that's just Comcast trying to get back some of the customers they lost to FIOS.

But yeah, why not. Everyone has a chance to win the SB...before the season starts anyway... and I think our chances are better than average.

I, like most everyone here, have some concerns about the secondary and just how efficient our offense will be. But if we can stay healthy, do the things we've always done well (play defense) and improve the things we don't do well (penalties!), sure why not, I agree with that prediction.

...and no, Comcast, I'm not coming back.....

Not with what the Ravens have playing in the secondary. McNabb just threw for 206 yards in one half of football.
He also through an interception did you see that one?

IMHO - At the end of the year last year, Lardarius Webb was, by far, the best CB on the Ravens... perhaps performing as one of the top 10 in the NFL. IF - a huge word - he can revert to that form - then Fabian can cover other teams' #2, and all will be okay.

Of course, we all know that the pass rush is at least as important as the quality of the DBs on any Defense, in today's NFL...

Wow, I'm as big a fan of Webbs as the next guy, but does everyone realize that he started 4 games and was a rookie. Again, I think he played great, but let's be realistic with our expectations of him.

Yea I agree. Sometimes we forget that he is still just a second year player coming back from a major knee injury.

Webb coming off the PUP is not the be-all of end-all. He won't be guarding #1 WRs w/ ease.

There is a 96.9 percent chance the Ravens will not win the Superbowl. Personally, I'm just hoping for the franchise's first three-peat playoff appearance.

You're not a top ten cb in the league when you only start 4 games. I do think he might have been the best on the Ravens, but that's not saying much.

How realistic can you be when yo have the best D-line in the NFL...

I'm confused as to what this has to do with my statement about Webb only starting in 4 games, being a rookie and everyone needing to relax on crowning him the second coming of Aso.

Like other teams wont take advantage of the Ravens' defense weekness. If D. McNabb can pass for 206 yards in a half then Palmer, Brees and Brady will have no problem also.
McNabb is a better QB than Palmer at both points in their respective careers. McNabb has basically no HB either so hes doing it all on his own and without any All Pro WRs. Palmer has Benson, two former All Pro WRs thats better than anything Washington could dream of, and Palmer still had to lean on Benson and his defense to win games for him last year for the last 6 weeks because he couldnt get the ball to his WRs. We played Brady twice last year, fed it to him once, and the other Brady threw for 250, nothing bad but nothing outrageous either. That first game included Carr fumbling the opening kick off on his own 20, the Pats starting the game in the redzone. You say Welker wasnt in the playoff game and he makes their offense run, we lost our #2 and nickel corner and Welker had 48 yards the first game and Moss had 50 on 3 catches. All the QBs you mentioned are top tier QBs and can throw up yards and points, but every post you make makes it seem like my 15 year old sister is playing CB for us and we have no hope to beat any team who has a remote idea how to run an offense.

Yeah, without Ed Reed we may be in trouble, although we still have good players like Lewis, Rice, Flacco and prince miller. but, it's Ed Reed we're talking about here, so he may try to get in before Week 6.

It's hard to say right now. I'm confident that that the team has the pieces to go to the Superbowl and win it all, but so much of that is timing, getting hot at the right time and avoiding injuries. Still, the Ravens have a lot of depth at just about every position, and they'll definitely shake things up in the NFL this year.

I just hope that this Superbowl isn't the last one we see for a while.

Wait a second, you put P Miller in the same sentence as Lewis, Rice and Flacco? Wowee wow!

I didn't even notice that. It's definitely too early to be put Miller's name among those players.

Preseason can tease like that. Guys like Miller, Reed and Phillips look promising, but let's see them in the regular season, assuming they all make the final 53.

Until a current Ravens DB steps and plays like a Champ Bailey, Charles Woodson or a Darrelle Revis it might as well be your 15 yr old sister. You can only go as far as your weakest link lets you. And if a Ravens CB plays great then yes the Ravens will go far but till then I hold judgement.

lol jez are you serious, guess its a good thing the Colts dont go as far as their running game takes them. I realize our DBs arent top tier, but when our guys are healthy theyre just as capable as your secondary.

It's impossibly early to say.
We haven't even seen our real offense on the field yet.
Until I see that I won't say one way or the other.
Do I think our defense is good enough, with everyone healthy, to get us there? Yes.
Do I think our offense is good enough, as I think they will be in my head? Yes.
Do things work out like I want them to? Not really.
Are we a better team than last year? Yes.
Should I keep asking myself questions? No...
