How the hell did he hold onto that ball?

How the hell did that guy hold onto the ball too?
No idea. Hamlin gave him a shot.

I'm a fan of the Dutch!

He plays solid.

I'm actually a fan too.

ER20 that was sort of like INT #2
Agreed. You can always count on Bad Rex to emerge.

I find it hard to believe that our defense hasn't given up a touchdown. I wasn't happy with the first team's play. Luckily, it's only preseason.

Is it just me... or were these commentators completely one-sided?

I mean, I'm used to it because everyone hates the Ravens. But I thought since Comcast Sportsnet covers the Ravens as well as the Redskins... they would be more professional about it. It was disgusting to hear them talk every play about how the Ravens got away with a bunch of penalties and the Redskins got cheated.

I know. The cornerback play (along with the linebacker coverage) was just a little disappointing in my opinion. But to hold the 1st team and team as a whole to only 3 points was a pleasant surprise.

I thought they were fine and if anything they were siding with the Ravens.

Comcastsportsnet had two coverage teams. If you live in the Redskins primary market you got the Skins guys.

I take it you had Joe Theisman talking in your ear the whole night?

Yes bend but do not break for the defense is okay but the stress for 16 games will tear some people apart.

There were two different broadcasts...you were probably watching CSN Baltimore's coverage.

Basically. It was torture.

"Blah blah blah holding blah blah Orakpo blah blah blah I want to have McNabb's babies...". You get the idea.

I knew D Will tweaked his ankle on his catch....you could tell immediately.
Yep. His body was at an awkward angle and he got up limping.

First Play - Reverse to Stallworth.

I did say it was going to be a double reverse to stallworth - then a hail mary pass on the first page.

Close enough dude!

I was at the game so I did not get a good glimpse of who was good and who was bad. However, the second and third string offensive lines were much better. First string too for that matter, I thought they would all get clobbered.

Overall im happy with the game, passrush was excellent, but coverage needs to be worked on. we need to get a Number 1 CB. 1st team Offense was a little sloppy for some reason.

Really? I thought the pass rush (1st team) was pretty bad. When Donovan had time to throw, he burned us. And even when we got to him, we sometimes allowed him to step up and escape and he burned us some more.

thats the thing, mcnabb is very mobile, good QB's can move out of the pocket and get away from it.

But we still didn't get to him all that much imo. I just wish the secondary didn't have to rely this much on the pass rush in order to not give up yards downfield.

Ehh, at least Fisher doesn't get called for PI every other play

On Suggs, he was absolutely amazing. He was great against the run and dominated Trent Williams at the point of attack every play and clogged up the hole.

You say that now until we bring frank back and he gets a pass interference penalty, a holding penalty, illegal contact penalty, ect, ect...

While Frank looked great in the play-offs, let's not pretend he didn't look atrocious a good number of times during the regular season or the numerous costly penalties he drew.
Thats because frank walker was actually in range to cause a PI. Travis fisher wasn't even within screen of the guy half the time. He looked awful and lost and his hips were terrible. There is a reason he was not a starter on the detroit lions which has one of the worst secondarys in the league, Period.

Frank being "in range" doesn't minimize the damage his penalties caused. The team decided Fisher was a better option and while he's struggled mightily, there's a good chance the team may not have to rely on him to be more than the nickel come Week 1.

I just watched part of the re air of this game on NFLN and it didn't take long for me to get sick of listening to Theismann make all the excuses in the world for why his deadskins got crushed.
