Trades

9 posts in this topic

Ok, this thread isn't about trading a specific player or pick. It's more about how people are coming up with these outlandish ideas that the Ravens can just trade for whoever they want.

Here's a hint, if they DO make a trade I can almost promise you that it won't be for a big name player.

There are so many things that you have to factor in when you are talking about a trade. For example I just read a thread on the Ravens trading for an O lineman from the Chargers.. first of all what do we have that they need? not much really. Second, what is his contractual situation and how much of it are the Ravens going to have to inherit? The same goes for all this talk of CB's. Nnamdi and Revis AREN'T cheap!!! Let's not forget that we ALREADY have big contract guys like Suggs, Ray, Boldin ect.. and guys like Ngata who are going to warrant big money soon. Then on top of that there are guys like Rice, Flacco, and Oher who will EVENTUALLY warrant big contracts.

So PLEASE think first. It has to be right player, right price and the trade has to benefit BOTH teams equally for it to happen.

Nice job man. They did say in one blog that they would probably trade for a third or fourth string corner, not some big name, cap space eating superstar.

My feeling is many feel the NFL is Madden or fantasy football with unlimited money, no salary cap, no Union to deal with lol.

We might be able to do with what we have then to trade away our in house talent.
As far as the O-line goes I think we have a safe bet with all the lineman going down and all. Place Yanda at Right Tackle and Chester at Right guard that is a sure bet.

I don't think moving Yanda to tackle and starting Chester at RG is really what they want to do, but it IS a contingency plan should they have an emergency situation where they don't have any Tackles left on the bench

That's pretty much it. The average fan, with respect to the people around here, doesn't understand that the owners aren't playing with monopoly money (no matter how obscenely rich they are), and there's more restrictions than what videogames or fantasy football can hope to simulate.
