Young Defense Will Be All Set Next Year.

I know this is incredibly soon and we still have a season to get through but just looking at all the new and young talent I just cant wait till everyone is healthy. Our defense will almost be completely young except for Ray and Reed(if hes not retired already). Heres how I see our defense to look next season.

Secondary:

CB-Foxworth/Draft pick
CB-Webb/Williams/Washington
SS-Landry/Nakamura
FS-Reed/Zibikowski

Linebackers:

OLB-Suggs/Barnes
OLB-Johnson/Kindle
MLB-Lewis/Ellerbe/Mclain/Gooden


D-Line:
3-4
DE-Ngata
DT-Cody
DE-Kruger
4-3
DE-Suggs
DT-Cody
DT-Ngata
DE-Kruger

Only thing I worry is how the leadership on defense will go if Ray and Ed both leave after this season. As I said I know this is WAY EARLY but man that defense looks great!

I still think some work needs to be done and we'll see how the younger players perform this year but credit the FO for drafting well as always.

I questioned getting two safeties in 08 but they are really paying off now.

Yep. Zibby is looking like a steal and I was impressed with Haruki in the pre-season game. I have a feeling we'll be doing the same thing with the TEs in a year or two.

Everyone forgets about Cory Redding. He's gonna be better than Dwan Edwards and Justin Bannan. Anyway good outlook on next year. I hope these young MLBs step up so out secondary can shine. Even without Reed, Landry and Zibby are both excellent communicators. Ray will probably play for 3-4 more years, In my humble opinion.

I would say 1-2 more years. Any more than that and he will be a 1 down player IMO.

I think Mason is done after this year, he's seriously considered retirement for two straight seasons now. This year is because he wants a ring before he leaves.

It seems like Ozzie, DeCosta and co. have a habit of loading up on one position (unit) in drafts now, and it looks like it's paying dividends.
