Great news! I just hope our training staff is 110% sure that he's okay to come off the PUP.
Agreed! No sense rushing anyone onto the field, but glad to hear this though!!

Yes. What a relief. Hopefully he takes his time back into it. But I was expecting this considering how Washington was coming along.

GREAT NEWS!!! I don't want to see him on the field at all until week 1. Let him take some time to gain some confidence in that knee.

If he comes off PUP tomorrow, my guess is they will test the knee and stretch things out preseason game 3 at least a bit.

I could see that happening too.

Webb's coverage skills were above average for a rookie CB last year but it was his quick and textbook run support that really impressed me. I wonder how or if he'll be hesitant whenever he hits the field again.

Apparently, Webb has either passed the infamous conditioning test or did well enough in a mock test, which is why the team feels comfortable enough to activate him: http://www.masnsports.com/dan_kolko/2010/08/webb-could-return-from-pup-shortly.html

Run support and tacking were top notch. His style of taking down a runner was/is eerily reminiscent of Ed.

Maybe our secondary isn't as bad as we thought.
Gonna toot my own horn and say that I have been saying that both Fab and Webb will be ready by week one, as will Reed.

We will have Reed/Landry and Fab/Webb with Carr, Williams, Zibi and Nakamura as backups.

We're fine....now, the O-line, I'm not as optimistic.

Hopefully not. If Washington and Webb both make full recoveries and stay healthy, I think we can get by, even without any more moves being made. Unfortunately, those are big "ifs" right now.

The CBs are getting healthy while the o-lineman aren't. Good to hear Webb may come off the PUP tomorrow though.

amazing how Ozzie shows his brilliance... who saw us grabbing Oher in the 1st last year?.. now we'd be lost w/o him

Yep. And although he's still a project, Harewood looks like a smart pick right now.

Beat me to the punch :34853_doh:. I LOVE football players that have a mind like Harewood's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he have degrees in engineering AND physics? If this guy can get adjusted to the NFL level, he could be one of the biggest steals in recent draft memory.

I'm just so glad to see our secondary getting healthier, first Fabian may play against the Redskins and now this, if Ed Reed can play by Week 3 to get into rhythm or at least be ready by week 1 our secondary issues will be over with. Now only if we could get Foxworth off IR and healed.

The only thing I'm worried about now is our Offensive line, Gaither needs to get healthy and be ready to start at RT in week 1 against the Jets. I'll say at least we only have to worry about a few members on the offensive line, we still have Oher, Grubbs and Yanda healthy right now so it's not like our line is in complete shambles here.

knowing webb he's gonna wait because as much as we want him back by tomorrow he's gonna take the smart route and wait till HE feels 110%
And thats a bad thing?

I agree with webb, I'd rather have him fully healthy and play great, than not fully healthy and a risk of another injury to his leg again and have him go out again in no time.

This is so true. You know he has been on the sideline lately with Ed and they have both been discussing their perspective injuries. You could bet that Ed has drilled into Webbs head to not rush his return. This is almost evident by Webbs remarks about not really wanting to participate in any preseason games. This was probably the best advice he could have recieved from Ed. As everyone has stated we want him 100% before he returns. Most 2nd year players would be trying to rush to get back perhaps in fear of not keeping their status on the depth chart. I dont think there is any worries of that though.

Now we see why Ozzie didn't trade for a CB. Week 1 could be Webb, Fisher, Washington and Carr.
Theres still a bunch of questions there. I still would have liked to trade for someone. But I don't think the Ravens are willing to give up a good role player to get a cb

Pretty fantastic news. Cautiously optimistic, as its my nature. One thing about Lardarius that seemed obvious to me: his explosiveness is what made him an impact rookie. He could quickly make up for a missed step or falling victim to a juke move, purely based on his superior athleticism. We all know its a fine line that separates the great from the ordinary at the elite level of sports. I really hope he's 100% "balls out" confident when he hits the field. Hope that last part wasn't too offensive for this forum, but this is football after all :D .

Still, this is just GREAT news, and its got me pumped this AM.

Edit - OK, look like he's not off PUP, but hey it was fun while it lasted.

The Ravens will gradually work him back into game shape by the openning game. Hopefully this will suppress some of the talk about trading for a CB. We will be fine with Webb and Washington until Reed returns in time for the Steelers game.
