See, I told you guys he was just being respectful when asked about playing in Arizona.

I never doubted you for a sec Neepster.

But yeah, this is sweet. It does suck a lil that franchising is so freaking expensive, but I've got a feeling that Suggs will turn his game around next year and pwn face.

well it wasnt exactly is fault that his Production dipped somewhat from last season......i mean after all for only being 25 years old and already having 40 plus sacks for his career? and is averaging around at LEAST 9 sacks per year? that just has to be seen by our opponents and something as to which they prepare for, and we saw that last season when they constantly double teamed him, with Pryce being absent. and now that Pryce will be back and healthy...im sure that he will get it going again. be and the player and be the Terrell we all know and Respect

I thought he made a good point about doing more for the team than Dwight freeney, but I suppose that's true for most linebackers...

i think that only show his True Character and just how much he means to this team and just how much the Team and his teammates mean to him. there's qaulity and there's quantity....Suggs is one of those classy, dignified players whom is a huge play maker and one that can be a game changer at any point in time. and he's also Humble enough to acknowledge that simple fact amd embrace it and its entirity...not shy away from it.

This is completely true. He is a much better DE than LB and the statistics tell us that. If he's telling us that he wants to play DE, then why should we stop him? Pay him a little more money and he'll again be at the top of his game at his best position.

Thats what I said in the original thread about him getting tagged. But you can't blame the ravens for wanting to save a few bucks here and there given our cap situation.

Suggs will get a huge contract after the season. The Ravens have been very generous with our star playmakes in the past and there is no reason to think they wont be this time. Look at Reed's contract, or Ray's, or C-Mac's. Suggs will get a deal and retire a raven.

I dont think he is going to entire the season under the franchise tag. If I am not mistaken, we have only used the franchise tag once in the past and that was on McCalister to keep him from entering FA. But he didnt entire the season under the franchise tag. It took until the preseason that year but eventually they worked out the deal that he has now. The way NFL contracts are usually structured signing Suggs to a long term deal, would actually open up cap space and be cheaper then the franchise tag. That is if we can get the deal done before the deadline. After the deadline, the money becomes guarented.

lol like i said before....we may have put the tag on him as a Defensive End. BUT we all know (Suggs might know too lol :P) that his talents provide this team with depth and versitility, as well as many opposing teams that have played against us have seen with him out on the football field. and which is why opposing teams are forced to change up their game plan.

RIGHT....calling him a defensive end or line backer doesnt mean much in the scheme of things.... its all about his ATTITUDE, performance, and attitude, He may be number 55 on his jersey, but for saying he'll always be a RAVEN, he's number one in our hearts... it takes game changers like him to make opposing coaches to plan to ISOLATE one guy and thus free up our other PLAYERS,... i hope Coach Harbaugh realizes this and gives him the contract he deserves and makes him the FUTURE of our team!

as for naming a particular player to a particular position ( i think) is just so that its down on paper for people to see, but he has the ability and the skills and overally talent to play alot more than just one position....they had to put down just one position not all that he plays

I'm really glad to see a guy be more interested in loyalty to the team, than he is in a big long term contract. Congrats to TSizzle...I am sure when the Ravens have more cap room that they will give him the long term contract, and the money with it, he deserves. I think 8.5 million or so for a season is pretty good though, for now.

We need money to tandem him with a good rookie DE in the draft, so he won't get double teamed all the time and get his sack total back up, so I think we mad the right move.

picking up a Good DE in the upcoming draft would be a good option to fall back on simply because of the fact that it would provide us with depth at the DE position, it would help out the older guys on the team like Pryce., while maintaining a steady flow of pressure on the opposing team....plus it would give us the option to rest a player like Pryce a few times and let the rookie do his own thing and help out his team. but i would doubt them using their first pick on that player whoever it may be. should be later on in the draft we address that issue/need.

Glad he's not acting like some other athletes have when given the tag. But I didn't think he would.

Good lookin' out, Suggs.

true that! unless you force your way out of town than there's no need to complain! you're here for one more year with the possibility of getting a long-term deal worked out over the course of the season.

it's great to see a young man with a good head on his shoulders. suggs should and i'm predicting will, get a long-term deal!

He will...the first thing Rex Ryan said when hired was why hadn't they gotten Sizzles under contract???...Rex loves the guy, we fans love the guy, so I'm SURE he will get his long term contract.

Near the end of the article, he talks about not knowing whether or not he will hold out during camps, but he'll look to "Ray Lewis and Ed Reed" for advice.

In a post above it said that the Ravens have treated veterans pretty well in the past. Do you think they'll advise him to participate in the camps?

It truly sounds like he doesn't want to hold out, but it seems like some business-end of the deal could persuade him to do so. Do you agree?

i dont see why not.... i mean because there is always room to improve upon and keep getting better and better, you learn something new everyday. and with this new system being brought in, i would expect him as well as most, if not all veteran players to be in attendance in order to get a early jump on things and really get to know the schemes before training came and the games start up.

I think it would be better for him to speak with CMac about this situation. Ray and Ed never had to play with the franchise tag. CMac has and he made the decision to hold out but the good thing is they were already close to putting together a long term deal. I honestly dont believe Suggs will enter the season with the franchise tag.

True Ravens07. It would help for him to get acquainted with some of the new position coaches but I wouldn't worry since our favorite of all Rex Ryan will still be the OC.

you mean Having Cam as our Offensive Coordinator lol Rex is our Defensive Guru and one to which each and every single season thus far, have produced nothing but great or done nothing but a fabulous job in having a consistant Defense from year to year.....and as for our offensive ability and overall production, im willing to bet that This Offense will see a Increase of Production with Cam now calling the plays, the man behind the 2006 Chargers and Many other Teams (both Pro and College) who's offense's seemed to turn everything around and be dominate forces with the football.

Cam is a proven success at Offensive Coordinator and our OFFENSE has the will, the talent, and the POWER to Succeed... Cam will bring the best out of our players and make them victorious... we must have FAITH in our team because they are players but more importantly they are RAVENS and they love to Fight

Thanks... but sometimes i have to repeat myself a million times for no reason and just restate that cam is here to help bring the RAVEN organization.... especially the '07 squad to their fullest potential.... he will STOP critics from saying we don't have an offense because he will install a new scheme here... we will do play action, POSTING routes, and other things billick didn't do HERE., and i think we will turn our game around and go to the playoffs UNLESS we get hit by the injury bug, which YOU and i know can happen at anytime... so we HAVE to have faith and hope that we will turn it around and make big plays... which is SOMETHING a cam led offense is known TO do....but first we need to make sure our star offensive talent decides to StAY.

If Sizzle truly means that, and I think he does, then I feel very good about our chances of signing him long-term prior to the season starting.
