Merged: Consolidated Injuries Thread

95 posts in this topic

I thought it'd be easier to just make a thread to put ALL or any injuries from any team in 1 thread. I think it will be more Organized this way.

So right now only injuries I can think of are

Willie Colon
Domonique Foxworth-Torn ACL
Ben Tate-torn ankle ligaments
NE-Torry Holt-Knee
Dez Bryant-Spraind ankle
Stafon Johnson-ankle

Good job with the consolidated thread. I prefer this over having a separate thread for each injury.

You also have
Fitzgerald - Sprained Knee
Manning - Bloody Forehead
Fred Jackson - Broken Hand
Lynell Hamilton - Out for season

Well let's add Bills Safety Jarius Byrd to the list of injuries as he is now out for the season.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/18/more-bad-news-for-the-bills/
Safety Jairus Byrd,is out indefinitely after undergoing his third groin surgery in 13 months.

Gailey said that Byrd's groin had been bothering him throughout training camp this year. The condition became worse on Monday night.
Him too? Wow. He has so much potential. He did terrific on his rookie year. I had him second on my rookie of the year votes after Oher.

Yeah I have to say, I think Buffalo's hopes were also in Byrd's hands to win some games on defense for them. I mean if Byrd could play I'm sure he would get some big interceptions and get some pick sixes and keep them in games, but I guess it's all lining up for the Bills to have the # 1 Pick in the Draft next April.

Well, they do need a solid left tackle and/or a new franchise quarterback. Trent Edwards just isn't working out there.

DeSean Jackson is injured again!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/27/desean-jackson-leaves-game-with-back-injury/
Jackson left the Eagles' third preseason game with an upper back injury after taking a big hit from Chiefs safety Eric Berry on a four-yard catch.

The team announced in the second quarter that Jackson would not return to the game. He missed a number of practices early in training camp with a back strain.
Wow.. I guess that's a plus for Berry/Chiefs but a bummer for the Eagles. Hopefully it's not too serious but judging from the hit it might.

I'm not surprised Jackson get's injured so often. He's normally listed as 170-175lbs, wouldn't surprise me if he's sometimes playing in the 165 range. That aint big for a pro Receiver.

I feel genuinely bad for Byrd. He's a tremendous talent that is being derailed with a recurring injury. Atleast the Bills can take Luck/Mallett/Locker with the 1st overall pick (I don't like the 2011 O-line class).

Add Jason Campbell to the list of players carted off but it's not a serious injury.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/28/jason-campbell-carted-off-not-seriously-injured/
Campbell took a blindside hit from 49ers linebacker Travis LaBoy, who apparently beat tackle Mario Henderson like a drum-playing rented mule.

The team says that Campbell suffered only a stinger, per Nancy Gay of FOXSports.com.
Talk about our CB situation being poor. The Patriots lose Leigh Bodden for the year.

That thrusts 1st round pick Devin McCourty and 2nd round pick Darius Butler into starting roles. Source

The Patriots aren't looking to hot on defense again.

Oh wow... it's odd, it seems the Pats can't draft defensive players anymore. I mean Patrick Chung, Butler, Ron Brace, all players who haven't done a thing for them. If the Patriots can be lucky the Raiders have another bad season they would probably draft the best 3-4 lineman after passing over Jared Odrick. Now losing Bodden for the year will really hurt them.

That's bad news for him and the Jets. It's the same injury he had in '08 which he blames for his regression.

Ouch.

Looks like a lot of rookie CBs are going to get a lot of playing time this year in increased roles. Wilson, McCourty, Butler, Thomas, Haden

Lendale White is out for the year with a Ruptured Achilles, the RB injury bug has hit Denver once again.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/03/ruptured-achilles-for-lendale-white/
Last night, Broncos running back LenDale White left the preseason finale against the Vikings with what appeared to be an ankle injury. As it turns out, the injury was in the vicinity of his ankle.

As first Tweeted in non-hoax fashion from the bowels of the replacement to the '68 VW bus, White has torn his Achilles' tendon.

Per a league source, it's a full tear. White is out for the year.

Putting this in the proper thread where I should have put it the last time (sorry everyone):

Figured with the season in full swing I would start a thread for injuries, instead of opening up a new thread for each individual player.

Texans DE Connor Barwin is out for the year with a fractured right ankle

Bob Sanders back and injured again in the first 10 minutes of the 2010 NFL season.

In 7 years being a pro he's NEVER played a full season, I really think this is were he gets dumped. Not that he's a bad player, but these injuries are just too much.

Eagles believe Pro Bowl FB Leonard Weaver tore his ACL and will be sidelined for the remainder of season
Did you guys see the way he tore it though?

I, unfortunately was watching the game and his leg bent in ways it should never be bent. Just terrible.

2000th post by the way, what a weird topic for it to be about.
