He went to HIS DAUGHTER'S HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION,

That's a big event in a father's life

I would be mad if he had missed it for "minicamp"

The fact that the author talks about players on other teams being jealous I don't think the media is making a big deal out of it, just pointing out that voluntary isn't just for players.

Even if he had just wanted to take a day off, its only one non-mandatory mini camp anyways.

as an orginazation it is just an example of being a profesional non bias work enviornment and it shows how important matters of the family are to The Ravens

as a coach it shows how things can be important to him other than football which will help with his relationships w/ the players because no one wants to talk to a robot they wana talk to people who they know they can relate to

as a father it shows where his heart and his head are at (in the right place) 'cause in the end who will be there no doubt... FAMILY

Ravens only bring in profesionals who will get the job done everyone who missed the volentary will be ready, Billick wont miss a beat, Ryan has gained some valuable exp, and most of all no waves have been made in the Billick family. No harm no foul

What a jerk that Michael David Smith is, so what if Brian Billick did that to see his daughter graduate. That guy seemed surprised at that? How in the world is it his business to down Billick for such an important event?

I don't believe MDS was referring to it in a negative light so what makes him a jerk?

Must have been a slow sports day to be blogging. Billick had his priorties in the right order by going to his daughters High School graduation. If he missed it to be at minicamp, he would have been accused of working too hard and ignoring his family. Defensive Coordinator Rex Ryan acted as the head coach that one day, someday in the future he will be a Head Coach somewhere in the NFL.

It sounded like.

I may have interpreted it wrong, but it didn't sound to positive.

I get the feeling that the San Diego Chargers are going to wish they would have made the future now.

San Diego is definitely going to regret signing Norv Turner instead of Rex Ryan. I would be surprised if San Diego makes the playoffs with Norv as their coach, but they'd be playing the Ravens in the AFC Championship every year with Rex.
