Ok, So my older brother and his fiancée are coming up to Maryland from Florida from Sept 28th to October 4th. They are coming up to Maryland to attend my brothers friends wedding on Saturday October 3rd. Now my brother wants to hit up the Renaissance Festival on Sunday October 3rd. The problem is as we all should know, is our beloved Ravens will face the Steelers for the first time this season. Which puts me in a pickle. Now before you make your decision, let me just say that before the wedding my brother and I will have a few days to kick it and have fun, get drunk and all that fun stuff. Also I will probably of already gone to the Renaissance Festival once already before they come up to Maryland. So my fellow Ravens fans, What should a dude do?

Remember football comes once a year and this game is def. and important one that we wait for all year long. What to do, What to do...

Edit: And if it means anything, he is not really into football and I have tried explaining the severity of this game to him, he says to (dare I say?) DVR it?!?! Also his fiancée is a Colts fan..yeah..

I live right down the street from the Renaissance Festival!

But I mean, it is an important game but Big Ben isn't gonna play, so it should be a cake walk especially without the Raven killer, Santonio Holmes on the team.

What kind of phone do you have? Can you download NFL Mobile?

I mean football is great, and I love it, but seriously dude, chill with your bro. Getting drunk at Renn fest should be on everyone's bucket list.

It's ok to DVR this one.

Yeah I am leaning towards going. It's still a tough call and I thought I'd make a thread on it. I live right by the bay bridge btw, but you forgot to vote dude, lol.

Your going to travel to Pittsburgh for the game... I thought you were talking about the home game at The Bank. It's a tough one but I'll say go to it or if not just DVR it and avoid the board to not know what happened during the game lol.

I'm not planning going to the game, I was gonna watch it on t.v. with my friends. My one friend always has people over on Sundays and cooks at least 200 wings for the games, and everyone else brings beer and something else to eat. It's good times.

Ravens game for sure. It'd be a lot different if your Brother was just staying for a day, but he's not, and you all are going to be having fun together. Heck, if I could get all the Ravens games where I live, I'd make it a tradition to watch every one of them.

Thanks for the input fella's. It's still a tough call though. I mean we all wait ALL YEAR LONG for this match up. My brother even suggested that I buy a cheap handheld t.v. and bring it to the Ren Fest. Lol, I am not even sure I could bring it in. It would be like that movie with Martin Lawerance when he went back into time.

I would like to know what Moderator 2 has to say, she's like the forum mom here,(I don't mean that in a bad way) ha.

And also, my brother will be back in Maryland for Christmas too. So it's not like I won't see him for a while once he leaves in October.

I'll never have this issue.

Get a Android or iPhone, buy the directv sunday ticket w/ mobile. Download the App.

Watch all NFL games live, wherever, even the Ren festival.

Yeah it sounds nice, I would need to buy one of those phones of course. But I just can't see myself watching it on a cell phone screen, I don't know. How much does the mobile directv sunday ticket cost?

Not to play Devil's advocate because I love both the Ravens and the Renn fest (I mean getting drunk there is getting like drunk in a time machine) but last time I ditched a Ravens' game and went was the Buffalo Bills game in 2007 and we went into a losing streak. Just saying.

Yeah I told my brother that I'll be watching the game for that day, he is cool with it. He has a bunch of friends who live up here still; who will be going with him, as well as his fiancée. Like I said he will be here for almost a week before hand so we'll have plenty of time to hang out and hit up DTA and drink some brews. Thanks for the input everyone.

I have to go to a friend's wedding this Saturday. I'll probably have to miss a portion of the preseason game. I'm thinking about skipping the wedding for a preseason game!

I don't know what the Renaissance Festival is but I do kind of understand your passion to wanting to see the Ravens & Steelers game. There is not a better rivalry in the NFL and these 2 team always provide great smash mouth football. It's not alike but I kind of have something similar to not wanting to miss a Ravens & Steelers game.

Back in 06', I was at my girlfriends parents house for some holiday and the house happened to catch on fire. The Ravens & Steelers were playing at that time and there was no way I was leaving. They were telling everyone to leave but I didn't. I didn't care how much smoke was in my face. I wanted to watch the damn game. So I sat there through the house fire till they cleared it up. The Ravens won that game btw. It was the game where Scott laid a pretty good licking on Roethlisberger.

Like I said, it's not really related but I do understand how you don't want to miss the game.

lol,just kiddin' dude.

Let me add this, I am not into that scene at all. It's just something to go and do once or twice a year while its around. It does get a bit weird at times but the beer helps with that.
