Hopefully a hand injury wouldn't be all that major. But for Hale to be writhing on the ground holding his face... What happened? Ngata break his finger in Hales eye socket or something? Grim...

Hale pulled him down, Ngata landed on Hale apparently. Ngata tweaked his wrist/hand. But he stayed on the field.

Hale was having back spasms before the drill and was getting stretched out for back spasms. So thoughts are that it might have something related to that.

Can everybody who does not have back spasms on our team raise their hands? *Nobody raises hands*

I'm starting to get concerned with our O-line.
[/quote]

We are running out of bodies at OL. We are going to have to start using D-Line men in practice.

This is getting a bit crazy here. Minor or not, we cannot keep having key players go down every other day. Ugh!!

Our o-line played like crap in the Panther game across the board 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string. We can't afford to keep losing guys like this. The o-line was supposed to be a strength. If we don't get it corrected our big shiny offensive weapons will collect dust while Joe is eating dirt.

Sometimes I wonder about the intensity of our practices. I know we're trying to instill toughness in our guys, but it's not worth all these numerous injuries. I just hope they're not being pushed too hard. They are human, afterall.

I think we're just injury prone. Plus there's nothing wrong with a hard practice. Gets you mentally prepared for the season, build your confidence, and will toughen you up so that minor to moderate injuries seem like nothing and you can play through it.

I'm trying to look at it that way just because I can't imagine these practices staying so intense if they're causing the injuries. If we;re just injury prone, it makes me want to question our training staff. As long as they're minor, though I guess it's no big deal.

Anyway you look at this it's getting crazy that every day several guys going down to injuries major or minor to me it makes me sick. Also i think some injuries are more than they report ,they say minor but they really want to say major but won't let on to other teams that we are beating up ourself. I mean Carr for one had a minor tweek on him hamstring nothing major he'll be just fine!! And that was 2 weeks ago i bet ya he still won't play against washington.
I think some of the practices might be over doing it a little ,not say we should make them cream puffs but since it's so ht out in Westminster maybe they could do lite hitting or something, gotta be a way to not kill the guys before we get started, really and if we don't get this under control you can kiss the season good bye , Next man up after the 2nd man already is up you are talking about a 3rd stringer and that's just scary.

Football is a tough game. It's an intense game. Injuries happen, because of bad technique and being out of shape. Look at guys like Ray Lewis, Rice, McClain, Oher, Flacco, Parmele, Steele, Zibby, Landry, Gregg, Kruger, Barnes, the other McClain, Grubbs, Yanda, etc... They're not hurt, are they? If our practices were too rough, then why aren't the starters, and better players getting hurt too? They get more reps! More reps means more chances to get hurt, so why don't they? Really, some of the guys just aren't tough enough. And as I said previously, injuries happen frequently from being out of shape, or having bad technique. Simple as that.

It's a mans game, stop trying to make it little league pop warner bull crap.

Who is trying to make it little league Pop Warner bull crap?!?!? Is having concern for the health of human beings reminiscent of Pop Warner football? So I guess Haloti Ngata is now "not tough enough, out of shape, and has bad technique"? Methods are meant to be questioned. Sorry if I'm tired of seeing all our starters on the sideline.

First, people questioning the intensity of our practices to answer your first question.

Second, they CHOOSE to play the game. They KNOW the risk of getting injured. If they wanna complain, or cry about injuries or intensity, my answer is simple. Dont play the game. It's a violent game, and they know that. They've played that game since most of em were 7.

Third, let me rephrase what I said. The majority of injuries occur because of being out of shape or bad technique.

Fourth, most of the injuries are actually to the lower half of the depth chart. Are Flacco, Rice, McClain, Boldin, Mason, Heap, Oher, Grubbs, Birk, Yanda, Gregg, Redding, Pryce, Ray Lewis, Suggs, McClain, JJ, Zibby, Washington, and Landry currently hurt? Btw, thats only excluding Ngata, who has a very minor injury and another corner.Thats 20/22 starters. :)

So I'm trying to make it a Pop Warner league because I ask a very reasonable question? Please. Just take a look at some of the retired Offensive/Defensive Lineman/other players (some DEAD already) and tell me with honesty that any of our guys aren't tough. Even if they aren't starting, you can look at their lives after football and know that they're tough. My point being when so many of our players start going down, you have to wonder what the cause is, and there is nothing wrong with me asking that question.

Yes, but it's also the responsibility of the league to oversee the practices and make sure practice rules aren't being violated...that's one of the main purposes of the NFLPA. We already got punished for harsh practices in OTAs, and one NFL analyst (I can't rememebr who) visited camp and said we had the most intense practices he had ever seen...does that not shed any light on my question?

That's better.

So what if they are? I guess our starters can just play the entire game no problem...they're "tough enough", right? Every player is important, and every player that goes down, starter or role player, is a concern to me. If Ray Lewis (who has had injuries in the past) went down, I guarantee you would be more tolerant of my questioning the practices. Just because they're mostly backups doesn't mean it's no big deal or that the practices aren't still too intense. I'm sure there is merit to what your saying about it being mostly lower guys on the depth chart, but that means the few CBs we have right now are at high risk for injury. Sorry if that concerns me..."Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" <--- *while slapping self*.

This is football boys. I dont know if any of you understand what that means ,but it means always risking injury. For those of you who want lighter practices and dont like the coaches way. Then you dont want to win, and you just dont understand the concept of playing football to the best of your ability.

I don't want lighter practices. All I did was ask a simple question about the intensity of practices. You also can't win with numerous players hurt (remember the AFC Championship game in 2008??).

I never thought I would get negged for showing concern for injured players.
