Did This Trade Just Accomplish My Goals?

4 posts in this topic

So I'm in a 10 team, standard Non PPR league, and I was wanting to get better at Flex spots, RB2, and WR3; I was shopping around yesterday, trying to find a good deal. I ended up trading Kellen Winslow, Jerod Mayo (the dude must have a love affair with the guy haha), and also Kevin Walter for DeAngelo Williams and Marques Colston.

My team now:
Qb) Schaub
Rb1) MJD
Rb2) DeAngelo Williams
Wr1) Andre Johnson
Wr2) Miles Austin
Wr3) Colston
TE) Finley
Flex1) J. Charles
Flex2) Crabtree
Flex3) Maclin
Bench: Pierre Thomas
Michael Bush
Chester Taylor
Kenny Britt
Alex Smith
John Carlson

DEF: Dallas
K: Akers
D: Patrick Willis
DL: Peppers
LB: David Harris
DB: OJ Atogwe
S: Tyvon Branch
Bench: Will Smith
DeMeco Ryans

There's one more spot open on my team for me to grab somebody out of the FA's... should I use it on Eric Weddle, Mike Williams on the Bucs, or Brian Cushing/Jonathan Vilma/David Hawthorne?

Also, did this trade just make me maxed out on talent level, or is there still room to improve? Thanks!

Since you should only have one backup RB (because you should start Thomas at flex 3) you should get the best RB in the waivers with the highest ceiling or Mike Williams as a backup flex postion guy (who seems to be the #1 in Tampa).

As for the trade, that guys is straight idiotic for accepting that. You got 1 top 15 and another top 35 guy for 3 guys that should be drafted 100+ (maybe a little sooner for Winslow).

The fact that that trade was not vetoed is a crime to the gods of fantasy football.

The only thing you need to do, which is kind of confusing why you didnt do already, is start Pierre Thomas over Maclin (who is currently the #4 target in Philly) for your flex 3.

Depending on your veiw of Bush you could start him over Crabtree as well (although it depends whether you prefer to start RB's or WR's) but staying with Crabtree would be fine, maybe even better.

There is absolutely no room for improvement on your team because you have solid depth all along the board, pretty much the only area of improvement I could see is a slightly better back up TE but thats because Im not high on Carlson and that really isnt a necessity barring injury to Finley.

If you don't win your league there is something wrong with the world.

I'm tired of analyzing ridiculous trades. Did you really need our blessing to tell you that you did well with your trade?

You picked up a first round RB, and a #1 WR on a high octane team for a injury proned, bad team TE, an IDP and a #2 WR fighting for a job.

What happened to the days where trades were actually fair and relevant?

If Finley doesn't break out, you could improve there, but other than that, I have no idea how you managed to assemble a team that good. That guy obviously wanted Mayo by any means necessary, and got trade you-know-whated as a result.
