I guess BR.com is doing their guess the 53 man roster for tix contest this year, huh?
Yeah. There was an article about it a couple of weeks ago. If there was any chance I could actually go, I'd do it.

The 5th and potentially 6th WR spot is a really tough call. Anybody else think its risky to put David Reed on the PS (in fear of losing him)?
How can you be in fear of something you really don't even know yet? That's not a question really directed towards you Running, i'm just saying. I mean i like Reed just as much as the next guy(mainly for what he did at Utah), but what has he done to make anyone, even people in the Ravens organization think he is a keeper? (as far as the 53)

At this point there isn't much outside of OTA's to go off of. I would hate to lose him, but if he doesn't prove to be one of the best 6 options we have at WR then you have to either take that risk, or come up with a injury to sneak him on IR.

What?

Go ahead and say what to this one to?

When Kindle is back, I say rest Suggs for games such as Browns and the Lions. This to give Kindle some starting time and experience in games that are a sure bet.

Not happening. First of all, the Ravens don't play the Lions this year. Second, even if Kindle does return, no teeams rests one of it's key players just to give a rookie starting experience. Finally, no matter the competition, there are no "sure bets" in the NFL.

I was actually looking for a "What" rather then a response but whatever I'll take it...

How about checking the schedule before making a comment next time?

You must spend a lot of time thinking of silly statements.

By the way, how long does it take to check your team's schedule?

A sure bet? You mean like the Browns were a sure bet for the Steelers? Or how the Chiefs were a sure bet for the Steelers? Or how the Raiders were a sure bet for the Steelers?

I'll stop now.

I don't know about D-Will, especially after David Reed's stellar performance tonight. Fisher has looked terrible in these two preseason games...could Prince Miller possibly sneak on the roster instead? Also, shouldn't Walt Harris be on the injured reserve, too?

I still stand strong behind my belief that the Ravens will carry 6 WRs this year, but like i've said before they change almost daily for me.

Before the game i had, the top 4 of Q, Mase, Clayton, Stallworth, follow by the pair of Harper and Smith.

Now after tonite(before re-watching the game), i'd have to put Reed over Harper and Smith, with Dwill and Smith neck and neck right now.

I'd be very tempted to go with 5, bearing in mind it looks like we will have 3 tight ends perfectly capable of splitting out in multiple sets.

Ultimately those 2/3 slots available for bubble guys at DB, WR or LB are probably going to come down to a combination of confidence in players to get and stay healthy, team philosophy and special teams.

I'm really hoping we take a chance on the new blood like like Arthur, Harewood and to a lesser extent Reed. Unlike the veterans we already have on the fringe at least with the rookies you have upside.

If you count that up that should be 52. I think this is based on performance (not trades, salary related cuts, etc). I can see us making some trades but im not going to bet on it.

I think the 53rd spot will either go to someone who excelled in camp on special teams. Or possibly even Kindle but I seriously doubt it.

EDIT: Or possibly a versatile player like Edgar Jones.

With the young talent we have at DL, could a guy like Kelly Gregg be cut?
Nothing is impossible, but i say no. Buddy Lee will be apart of this team.

However i don't agree with all the people that think Ayenbadejo, will make the team. First of all Burgess is just a good of an OLB as Brendon if not better, and as an added bonus Burgess led the Ravens in special teams tackles last season. That's impressive considering he was traded to the Pats and still managed to be a stand out on ST.

Unless Ayenbadejo can get healthy and get on the field soon, i don't see him being around for the Ravens. Maybe he'll make it because he'll be put on the PUP list, but utlimately, i don't see Bredon Ayenbadejo being apart of the Ravens short term or long term plans.

I agree for the most part. To be fair to B.A. though, he might be the team's best LB in coverage. Before he went down last year, we saw him a lot in various nickel packages and he was excelling.

With how banged up he is though, I'm just as skeptical as you as to whether he makes the team.

Yea make no mistake, BA stepped up huge last year at the LB position, he proved me wrong big time.

It's just that this year, the numbers game is much tighter. I think Burgess is a lock to make the team honestly, however you got guys like Edgar Jones and Jason Phillps who has been playing solid this preseason, and to cut one of those guys for a 35 year old LB that isn't 100% healthy right now is risky buiness.

If BA can come back healthy, i'd love to have him on the team for this year. It's always great to have guys like BA when making a push for the Super Bowl, i just don't see him getting healthy in the next 2 weeks. That'll put him on PUP and if the young LB play well in that 6 week time frame, BA might just be cut during the season.

Yep. It'll be tough to see B.A. go if he's cut but it speaks to how deep and talented the LB corps is.

I'm disappointed by everyone leaving out Arthur Jones. He's a 5th round rookie, why not bring him aboard? It's not like he's been awful in camp. Do we really need some random depth guy like Talavou or McKinney when we pretty much already know what they can do. Same goes for David Reed.

Here's a potential shocker, though it's very unlikely: Trevor Pryce gets cut. He's very old, I don't think he's all that effective anymore, and there's plenty of young, promising depth behind him and a reliable fill-in (Redding).

Until a player other than Suggss shows they can bring consistent pressure, I don't why the Ravens would cut Pryce. And even then, why would they cut him? Yes, he's old but he keeps himself in good shape and understands the nuances of rushing the passer and playing the run a player Kruger or Jones doesn't.
