Troy was long gone when I set these up like this. For Troy I'd have it in coverage.

Strafing on or off?

I actually changed my D-Line to all run stop like you said. I seldom struggle against the pass as I can always get pressure. But run is a different story. I know, not very Steeler-like, but it's due to my slider settings and IMO the best way to keep it realistically competitive.

I turned auto strafe off, and then on every play with Lewis I use the strafe button manually to make plays and maintain my angles.

Maintain angles?

I have it off too, and I go for the user pick more times than not.

Gotta love how the CPU always helps me select the wrong guy mid-play.

Ya for run stopping more so but even tackling in general in All Madden if you don't take the correct angle on a 1 on 1 tackle the CPU will break the tackle more often than not. The strafing helps your player stay square to the ball carrier and tackle him face up.

I play with Jets Defense and barely get picked apart anymore. 2 man contain is my favorite play for someone that is in shotgun formation a lot. I make myself Ray Lewis and either cover the tight end or a receiver in a crossing route. Works "most" of the time. Best man zone coverage IMO. I'm a level 4 for what its worth.

Turning off auto strafe allows the players to turn their hips and run as soon as you move the directional stick in anyway. Its effective for cutting off angles directly, or when you get beat in coverage to turn your back and run to a spot on a deep route or to close to make the tackle and limit yardage. The manual strafe button is crucial for run stopping in maintaining your angles and gaps, and for zone coverages.

The worst part of the pass defense is picking off passes. It makes my soul hurt when I play and Reed finishes with 3 picks, or (in the case of my Bills franchise), Byrd doesn't even have one.

Same problem here, I never manage enough interceptions with Ed.

What was the rocket catch?
