So, I'm watching NFL Network, and they just did a report saying that he wants a new contract from the Jets or he wants out because he feels they've lied to him. I'm not asking if you want him here, I'm just wondering if you think the Jets will give him a new contract? Since he has 2 years left on his current contract will he be traded? If so, where to? If he's not traded, will he hold out? Etc.

I dont know enough about this situation to go into deep detail but I do not believe the Jets will give him a new contract, simply because he's not young anymore and he barely played last season. I dont know if he will hold out. A trade is possible. If he is traded, I am thinking it will be to Philly, Denver (in exchange for Javon Walker), or possibly Minnasota.

I'm inclined to agree, though I think Oakland, Houston, and San Francisco may be desperate enough to pick him up on the cheap for veteran leadership.

Knowing Al Davis, he'll ignore Coles' age and overpay. Houston will simply want him to help take Andre Johnson's game to the next level and provide a legit #2 threat. And San Francisco has no real receiver of note other than Darrell Jackson and maybe Antonio Battle, to be honest.

But Philly, Denver, and Minnesota do make sense as possible destinations, I'll agree.

it is evident around here that the eagles are going to add (upgrade) to their recieving corps. coles could be a possibility but the rumors around here are larry fitzgerald. the cardinals just gave him an offer but he has yet to respond. mcnabb asked for help so he'll get it one way or another.

I agree he is on his way out but i can see a future for him as a redskin. Moss and Coles threating the defense deep leaves alot of room underneath for TE Cris Cooley

Only if they cut Brandon Llyod.

If he can't get a new contract he's probably gonna ask for a trade, which could happen if the Jets find a good receiver in the draft or free agency. I don't want him on my team though. He's good, but he's almost done. Every time he gets hit he leaves the field.

never could hurt anyone to have that little bit of extra veteran type leadership and poise in the huddle....and who knows, like Ray, he could play well if he was to in fact come here, and i dont just mean for this season but further down the road as well.....who knows for sure....only time will tell.

I don't know how good an investment lavernanues would be for any team right now, unless they are seriously thin at wide out, or have all first or second year players.

In his day he was a burner.

that day is no more.

I don't know how effective he can be on just his hands and his experience.

but sometimes a player just needs a new atmosphere and new perspective on whats to come...then things can turn aroud for them, (**Snap**) just like that. so anything can have a positive meaning and impact on this team.
