Montrealer

Baltimore Fan?

13 posts in this topic

Hello everyone,

I prensent myself: my name is Alex I'm from Montreal and I'm looking to learn about the great sport that is football (more NFL than CFL lol). The reason i register on this Forum is quite simple. Since i want to learn a lot about the NFL, I'm also looking to find a team. The funny thing, is about 4 months ago (beginning of MLB season) i was looking to finilly find a new mlb team since my expos are gone! So i made a trip to two mlb city: Philadelphia and...Baltimore.After the end on my trip i got to sayL I really fall in love with the city of Baltimore. I really enjoy my time in the city and of course at Camden Yards.Since that moment I'm a O's fan! I don't care if the team don't win for the moment ( except for now since Showalter is the manager!)

So anyway, almost all my friend are NFL fan, and I got to say I really don't not a lot about football. But I'm looking forward to learn, to prove my case i just buy the book nfl for dummies lol. So now that my speech is over (finally sorry for the lenght!) I was wondering...why not become a Ravens fan? After all I really love the city, but a read about the predections for next years and it seem the Ravens have a very good team, so i don't want to be a bandwagon fan...

Anyway, i know it may sound weird but i was wondering what do you think about that?

thanks in advanced

Alex

PS: sorry for my grammar mistake, I try my best, but as you may already see, english it's not my first language

Well, welcome to Baltimore. No-matter what others people for teams say about the Ravens do know, that this team is respected for it's defense and for it's ability to find talent.
thank you

Yes- our FO (front office-owners, managers, etc..) are known around the league for their outstanding draft picks (ozzie newsome) excellent team ownership (steve biscotti) and now great coaching (John Hardbaugh).

You need to know names like Ray Lewis # 52. He has been with the ravens since his first year and is known to be one of the most feared/talented/smart linebackers around. Some other names you should know Ed Reed (Safety), Ray Rice (running back) Tod Heap (tight end), Terrel Suggs (another great linebacker) and well, i could go on and on.

As already mentioned we have always been known for our Defense but this year our offense will be elite as well.

As a team Baltimore has never been the focus on any national sports coverage but this year we are getting some love due to the past 2 seasons and our offseason moves.

Gotta get back to work-hope this helps a little.

Jump on the bandwagon! Seriously though, if you don't already have a favorite NFL team and you are an Orioles fan, you should just be a Ravens fan too.

Baltimore has an amazing football team and great fans. We won our first championship in 2000 and while we haven't repeated since then we've been in the playoffs 5 times since then and have won the division twice.

For a long time the defense has been the heart of this team with Ray Lewis at it's center. We've just begun to see an offensive evolution with the drafting of Flacco, Rice, Oher, Dickson, and Pitta and the addition of Donte Stallworth and Anquan Boldin. We're hoping to win the championship again this year and get some of our most deserving veterans(Reed, Mason, Ray, Heap, Gregg) another super bowl ring.

Welcome Montealer from a Baltimorer! j/k. Just one suggestion if you want to be a true Ravens fan like me. It's simple! You just have to follow two teams, The Ravens and whoever is beating the Steelers.
