Thought I start a thread where we can talk about news, injuries etc and their impact upon fantasy football.

Here is some news to start.

Lynell Hamilton might have torn his ACL today and could be out for the season. [url="http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/38658883/ns/sports-player_news/"]Hamilton Injury[/url] . This adds a lot more value to Pierre Thomas now. As the #2 back might be down.

Broncos also signed Justin Fargas today. How will this impact Moreno? Fargas is a very capable runner. Will Fargas be involved or is he just insurance?

I don't think Fargas impacts Moreno's value at all.

Thats good news for Pierre Thomas owners (feel terrible for the guy who tore his ACL). I was starting to doubt him again but now I think he will be a stud.

Anyone have opinions of the Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones situation? TJ is practicing with the first team as of now and Charles is with the second team. I'd like to think Charles will win his position back because he has just been having some injury problems but once he gets over them he will be fine.

Pierre Thomas owners can rejoice that he should be in line to get all sorts of carries now, including goal line carries.

On one hand, I'm sure Jones is #1 on the depth chart to add fire to Charles but on the other hand, Thomas Jones is still a monster and could end up leading the charge. Definitely a hot situation to keep an eye on. Right now if you are looking at Value vs. Reach. Thomas Jones is winning.

Yeah I feel you. I'm doing a draft on sunday so that will help. And I just did a trade of Tony Romo for Calvin Johnson in another league so I'm stoked. I did autopick because I couldn't make the draft so I got Brees, Romo, and Kolb. So getting calvin and keeping brees makes me happy inside. But Charles is making upset.

In another league I'm thinking about trading Mike sims-walker for Dwayne Bowe. Bowe was real out of shape last year but this year it's his third year with Cassel who is better than any of the qbs that was throwing to him in his 1000 yard season. What do you think of that trade? And remember its for my number 3 receiver

I like Mike-Sims Walker but you also have to figure that teams will have more tape on the guy. He sort of got shut down near the end of last year. He no longer has Holt drawing attention and he's on a MJD-oriented team.

Bowe will post consistent numbers like always, and he is in the new "Charlie Weis" system.

Can't go wrong with either guy at #3

I just figure that Bowe should have a bounce back year and normally year 3 is where wr's breakout. But Bowe didn't do that, but I think he has the potential to because of how well he played in his rookie and sophomore year.

Whats your opinion of Jerome Harrison?

I won't be drafting him. His stock is very minimal now. He's wasted money for the Bengals. Unless Owens or Ochocinco gets injured its best to keep Bryant off of rosters.

His knee is obviously still an issue and I doubt he'll play a full season anyways.

Yep. He went in my "exclude list" a while ago and I have no reason to take him off.

Not that should guarantee him a spot this year but he's obviously KC's best offensive player.

Ugh. I know. I'm rather frustrated by this. I don't understand it. My brother says it might be to motivate Charles. But then again Charles is coming back from a small injury and working his way back up. I still think Charles will earn his spot back

I agree he should earn his spot back. A 50-yard scamper or long catch-and-run in a close game should remind Haley of his abilities.

Na. I'm in the Espn league with Romo as the commish. You in that?

And my brother is insistent that Jones will get more carries than Charles. We bet 10 bucks on it. I swear if I lose I'm going to punch Todd Haley in the face. I mean goalline carries are going to Jones, I know that. But Charles better get more carries. When you are that explosive it doesn't make sense not to give him the ball. That would be like not giving Chris Johnson the ball. On offense you give your best weapon the ball. Otherwise you suck as a coach.

In the ESPN league someone traded Antonio Bryant for V-Jax, I was pissed when it wasn't vetoed. Bryant is going to be terrible this year.

I have no doubt Charles will start but Jones is goin to get his carries and probably steal all the touchdowns away from Charles.

I think the carries will end up something like 60-40 and KC might have two 1000 yard rushers this year. There also might be a lot of splitback formations this year to keep teams guessing.

Well he could be thinking ball control. Maybe Haley doesn't want that homerun hitter. The Chiefs defense sucks. He wants a guy that will pick 3.7 yards everytime the ball is carried, just to keep scores low and defense off the field.

But then again you did hire Charlie Wies.

Paha. Wacko. Jackson isn't going to play until week 10. At least Bryant might play. But the funny thing about that trade was Wacko dropped Bryant right after that

I couldn't agree more about Charles. Yahoo's analysis team called him Chris Johnson-lite and he definitely showed Johnson-like speed and elusiveness last season. Don'y know what Haley is thinking.

I don't think it really was a good trade for anyone actually. Jackson isn't even going to play haha. Romo insists that he didnt hustle Wacko but he did on that one trade and everyone knows it.

I love playing in large leagues. The talent is spread out and there's more strategy and fingernail-biting involved.

Okay I agree with the first one, but Flacco for Rivers isn't TOO terrible, and Flacco and F-Jax for Rivers and Jacobs is more fair than V-Jax for Bryant.

I eventually got Rivers though so its all good in the hood.
