Yup, it's really good, but still needs a lot of work... I expect a patch or two in the near future that will fix these issues.

some people just fail to admit they are wrong. i cant wait for the patch because then i might feel like the game was worth buying but until then it goes down on the bust list.

I was one of the biggest haters going into the release. But im happy to admit i was wrong.

Yes there is some serious problems with the party option but it doesnt happen all the time. Personally, i really am not playing too much team death cause thats where it lags a bit but if u play gun game or "other playlists" like capture the flag and such there is little to no lag.

one or two patches and boom its fixed. my main concern is whether or not they can keep up with the hackers

I disagree. My clan has its own server(s) (One ranked and one unranked), and while there are lag issues, among other things, it will get much better and is certainly worth the money.

So the single player is worth nothing? Whatever dude. Multiplayer works fine.

I love the customization in this game and how all of the different camos are available for your guns, if you have the COD points to pay for it. I also like how you can customize your tag with multiple layers and symbols, etc.

Yeah a bunch of work was put into this game to make it balanced and a better gameplay experience than MW2. If they just fix the party system, matchmaking and iron out the lag a bit then this is the perfect purchase in my book.

What do you mean balance, from what I was told by more than a few people was the online doesn't even touch MW2.

Everything that made MW2 a really unfair and annoying game is removed in this one or made weaker. Overpowered Grenade Launchers, Commando, Stopping Power, and the stacking of kill streaks have all been removed in Black Ops making it a more balanced game. Grenade Launchers are almost nonexistent in Black Ops while in MW2 you were getting hit with one 5-7 times a match. Also the added recoil in this game adds a sense of realism and no kill streak is overpowered in Black Ops and this game actually takes more skill.

Now the only problems I have with this game is matchmaking, the party system and the times I have had lag. Matchmaking needs work, party system needs to be fixed so you don't lose your party so easily and lag needs to be toned down a bit. Other than that, Black Ops is a way better game than MW2. imo

Edit: Also Black Ops has zombies. =) That's always fun. lol

Black Ops is everything and more. The guns from MW2, the same type of matches like COD:WAW and so much more like wager matches, hardcore free-for-all, and best of all SECRETS. When you finish beating single player campaign you get to unlock the zombie map "five" where you play as John Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Fidel Castro chopping down zombies in the pentagon. But if you dont want to beat the campaign mode you have to do the cheat in where you also get another zombie game which is very similar to the old school game "Super Smash TV"..

I had a blast though the other day with some friends on Zombies in COD though. That Kennedy/Nixon/Castro map is epic.

To be honest I just kind of CODed myself out. I played all three prior games a lot on my PS3, had like 20000 kills online in MW2 with like 1.7 ratio, I eventually just got bored of it. I loooove to snipe though, bucketshots all day!

FerrariFan87 I dont run with a clan anymore just play with friends an I dont play the single player mode either because i feel like they are all the same now. I bought the game only for online play so for me I find this game to be a bust until the patch the matchmaking system. Im glad tho that you can atleast admit that it has its kinks to work out unlike someone else.

No doubt there are numerous issues still to work out, and I completely understand why you think it's a bust right now. Give it time though!

Just got the game for my ps3.
I played a little online. I started out bad until I reached level3 after 2 matches. The 3rd match I was number 1 on my team. Level 4 leading level 50s. I play world at war a lot. I prefer sniping. I just unlocked the sniper class. Then I went to watch the ravens game so. But overall I liked it so far.

Have to say im glad they patched the online play. Its still got some lag issues but its worth the money now.

I seriously think this game is over-rated.

The graphics are pretty poor for the genre (almost cartoony), the maps are all far too similar and contrived, the "customisation" feels like a cheap gimmick, the game feels clunky and slow compared to previous CoDs and the connectivity online is attrocious - I've been disconnected 5 games in a row, with my internet working perfectly.

I'm gonna have to find another way to spend my video game time until they release MW3, because this game, comparatively, is an abomination.

The only positive this game has is Zombies, which is only really fun if you're playing it with atleast 1 friend.

Thought i would share this with you all. Got bored the other night and decided to put some time into making my very own Ravens Emblem for Black Ops. Here are two different versions (only ones i have a picture of). If anybody is interested on how to make them, i can explain for you. FYI I used all 12 layers and could use a few more.
