[Blogs] ‘Surprised’ If Ravens Don’t Trade For CB

121 posts in this topic

If Rice were to be injured, McClain becomes your starting RB (did it in 2008 for 900+ yards and 10TDs as a dual RB with McGahee) and the Ravens rely more on their passing attack.

It would make a lot more sense for us to trade a linebacker for a CB. We currently have Ray, Suggs, Jarret Johnson, McClain, Ellerbe, Kindle, Barnes, Ayanbadejo, Burgess, Gooden, Edgar Jones, Jason Phillips and Paul Kruger- that's a whopping THIRTEEN linebackers. We're not going to be able to keep all of them, and most of them are talented enough to compete for a starting spot on another squad.

lets trade gaither and troy smith to buffalo for reggie corner,db, and a future 3rd round pick. then next year take our 32nd pick(last pick in the first round after we win the super bowl) and the 3rd round pick from buffalo and move up in the draft to get the best db available or julio jones from alabama. we have the physical wide receiver but we need the big red zone receiver too. ozzie, this is a solid ravens type move. get a good young corner and also get a future draft pick because gaither is not going to work out. might as well get something for him

No fansinthelou you cannot take from our OL depth (especially a starter) because our OL needs to remain intact. The correct way is to deal from our position of strength (RB DL and LB depth) without sacrificing areas of need (OL). You can't move Gaither, even for a starting corner. There is no depth to back him up and the team would suffer for it.

cousins can play right tackle and gaither is leaving next year anyway. they way it looks, he wants out now as has missed more of training camp than he has been there. he missed all summer. if he walks after this year, we get nothing. smith was a mid round pick and now we have bulger who was pretty good here in st. louis. package them and get that corner. we should have got a corner in the draft but did not. plus buffalo has a quarterback competition and they can throw troy smith in the mix. i hear what you are saying itscbm but i still think its doable.

sorry dude cousins is <not very good> and putting him in place of gaither would get flacco killed, best move would be a Lb or rb, harewood is a gaither clone and would prob be alot more promising to fill gaithers shoes next year, then we let gaither go when is deal here is up!

If possible, I'd like to keep our starters around (McGahee, Gaither, Ellerbee, McClain) and trade from our wealth of LB's... Champ Bailey would probably make the most sense because after Revis and Namdi, he is the best out there. Also I wouldn't completely rule the Revis thing out. NY has said he may not play for the Jets this year... Im just saying, stranger things have happened.

Champ is a Top 10 CB, which is far better then what we have here now. I don't think Den. will part with him though!

McGahee and Gaither to Denver for Champ Bailey. Champ wants a ring and Denver ain't gon give it to him this late in his career. I'd hate to see McGahee go but he's the strongest bait at running back that we would be able to trade

The Broncos aren't stupid enough to give up Bailey, but we could ask them for Andre Goodman. He's not shutdown but a solid corner that can fill in for the time being.

At this point any corner a team is willing to move is third string at best. I wouldn't get too excited and come back down to reality

WHATEVER! MATHIS, BAILEY, NEWMAN, MCKELVIN, ASOMUGAH, REVIS; Something has got to give! It would be nice to grab 2 corners because in reality, we just DONT KNOW how well or EVEN IF our injured will bounce back!!!!! I say we should bring in Ken Lucas for cheap, and trade for one of the above!

GIVE ME DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who ever you are you are fooling yourself if you think 3rd and 4th corners (which is all we have healthy on the roster right now) are able to cover #1 & #2 recievers for the 4-5 seconds our pass rush needs to get to the QB!

This year I dont want another "close but no championship"!

Troy Smith and future 3rd/4th round pick for Mathis. Hey, it might happen because Mathis is grumbling so jax might want to get rid of him.

@KillaBird- Exactly. Especially Carr. TO, Bryant, etc. tower over him. With our current corners, we'd get slaughtered by cincy! Nothing against carr- he improved in skill and confidence over the course of last season.
