Ed Reed Coming Back?

24 posts in this topic

i'm just wondering...does anyone know if ed reed's gonna play this year or not? he said retiring is a 50/50 chance for him, but he said that a while ago, and i haven't heard anything, except that he's progressing and he may get a chance.

He's definitely coming back this season. The only question is when.

I heard a radio personality on 1057 The Fan saying that Ed may not be as hurt as he's letting on. He didn't name his sources but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case.

I think he'll suit up late in the season but then again, he may not. Like Mike Preston has said a few times, you really don't know with Ed.

He'd better be, just spent around $1700 on Hotels, Flights and tickets to the Dolphins and Falcons games. Need to see he and Ray Lewis in a live game before they retire.

Ed Reed was on the field today throwing some ball around during drills. He even threw a int but you can see a he jogged a little that he is not ready!

Me neither. They're not Ed but Zibby has done a lot to improve as a player and Hamlin is keeping the battle interesting.

Personally I was absolutely JUICED when we picked Tommy Z in the 3rd in 2008, he would have been a 1st round pick had he come out the year before and then he played on an absolutely atrocious ND defense and pressed and tried to do too much and then scouts said he was poor in pass coverage because he didnt stay with his assignments. The dude was an absolute playmaker at ND before his senior year, and is unreal tough.

I'll never forget his punt return against UNC back in '05. He just kept going and going and going. Won't be surprised if he's a Pro Bowler in a year or two.

that“s exactly what i think about that guy. his motor is allways running and he has very good instincts. could be THE safety in the nfl in a few years

if thats the case, then the 08 draft could be the ravens best all time draft.. you'll have Flacco... whom I have steeler fan friends who say he looks like he could be a P. Manning

Ray Rice, we all know that story

and then Tommy Z if he becomes "The Safety"

I don't think he's faking it. I had to do a school report on him and he was really generous and he cares a lot bout his fans, so he wouldn't just fake injury or not be that hurt and not play so that his fans won't see him play.

Even if Ed Reed is sidelined, his knowledge of the game will help the younger players to develop into adequate replacements. Honestly, the fate of the team doesn't evolve around one player, but the Ravens are better with him on the field. So, get well soon, Ed, and we'll enjoy your pick-6s all the way to the Super Bowl.

I think all of this is a smokescreen, He probably is injured, he's probably mad, but I still just have that feeling that there is no way he's going to miss 6 games and he will surprise us on NFL and add extra hype for the game

Just let him do his thing. If he plays, he plays. If he doesn't suit up against the Jets, oh well. The fact of the matter is that we have quality backups with starter potential to fill in for Ed Reed. I'm not the least bit worried about it.

o don“t have that feeling. i believe that he has a major injury with his neck and i hope he gets that done and recovers before he gets back on the field. just because a partly injured ed reed cannot play like a healthey ed reed. so get healthey and let the other guys do the work till he gets back!!!

If he is sidelined, he may try to help the other players, but even if it's Ed helping them himself, there may never be a safety like him again. We need him to get better and be able to play.

Right now I don't care if he retires, I don't want to make him play and hurt himself and possibly with the neck injury get paralyzed from some freakish play.
