Anyone playing a defensive player in superstar?
I tried playing as Kareem Jackson (Texans Corner). It got pretty boring rather quick.

Thinking about trying one as Eric Berry/Earl Thomas/Nate Allen so I can roam about making plays a la Ed Reed.

I figured out that if you sim the entire offensive series at once, you'll have a hard time winning and your QB will have crap for stats. However, if you sim one play at a time it's more realistic.

I created a Rookie FS for the Giants and play as him. I love it!!!

I noticed Matt Schaub averaging 46% pass completion, 127 yards per game and 0.7 TDs. Unsurprisingly that got really annoying.

Started one as Dez Bryant and had 778 receiving yards, 57 catches and 8 TDs through my first 6 games. Playing receiver is rediculous, you just find gaps in the D, stand there and wave at your QB for a second or two.

I had a CB going on 10 and logged 14 picks through my first 2 seasons, I loved playing DB in Superstar mode. Have no idea why they didn't touch the Franchise or Superstar this year. Like really how hard is it to give it a few minor tweeks to at least make it somewhat different. I burned out my Superstar urge in 10, OTP is the way to go guys, they just need to make it ranked.

Just got to 100% on Madden and got my platinum. Some of them happen once in a blue moon which require you to do a little cheating.(pick up 6 and 10 seconds in the pocket)

The only realistic difficulty to play on is All-Madden. I drop 40-50 points every game on All-Pro. I played All-Madden against the Steelers and Flacco had about 300 yards throwing. I picked Big Ben off about 3 times. The defense and other players are more alert on All Madden which makes for a better game!

Seems to me like some of the CPU attributes are ridiculous in All Madden. They need more sliders or a tweener setting...like ALLmost Madden. lol.

Just rented Madden 11 today and wow are the default rosters screwed up. I will say I give EA Props for having newly updated photos of the players(Gaither has one finally) but the rosters are terrible, I mean OJ Atowge is a Free Agent, and couple other players are Free Agents where they could have been added to the roster before the game was released.

Luckily a new roster update is coming out this weekend, so hopefully I can get my PS3 to connect to the internet to get the new rosters... or will I need the online pass to get the rosters now?

I think Bulger is a Bengal in this game as well. Or he was free agent and got picked up by the Bengals But he wasn't a Raven.

yeah you need the online pass, there is a free trial but I am not sure that when it ends you lose your roster update.

It's cute that they put Ray Lewis's dance in for every home game.

But has anybody seen that when he's injured, they plug Gooden in and he does the Ray Lewis dance? That's pretty F'd up.

Yes there was 1 roster update all ready released but I saw on Pasta Padre that this weekend they are releasing a new roster update and I'm hoping that it has correct rosters and updated contracts for players(Kyle Orton especially, he has a 7 year contract at default when he was tendered lol) and for guys like Nick Mangold who just got a new deal, The Patriots Kicker just signed a 4 year deal, etc. If they didn't update the contracts it's a pain in the butt trying to get them to sign for their real life contracts yet they want more than what they got in real life.

http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/08/26/next-madden-11-roster-update-coming-soon
It appears that the second roster update for Madden 11 will be coming sooner than anticipated. According to Donny Moore the next one is being targeted to arrive this weekend. This update would likely attempt to position rosters to be in better shape before NFL teams set their final 53 after the last preseason game. A roster update is still expected in the days leading up to the start of the regular season that incorporate the final rosters.
The things I hated other than it being outdated is that Ben is the 1st string QB now hopefully they do something to have him suspended so he can't be playable until his suspension in real life is over.

I'm shocked that the new Kicking Meter was easy to pick up on, I can't believe people complained about it, it's easier than the last system.

Back to NCAA 11 and building a Alabama Dynasty and getting some Draft Classes until the Madden 11 rosters are more accurate.

P.S. Add Eron Riley to the game please.

It's simple really, if you want to get the latest rosters you just go to play a game online.
Really? You don't need Online Pass to get the new rosters? Well than once I figure out how to get my PS3 to connect(just bought a new router, old router was corrupted) I'll get the latest roster that they will release this weekend.

I'm finding it very easy to re-sign players, which I guess is a good thing but I'm just surprised by how much they will take. I got Mangold to take his 7 year 55 million contract he signed in real life.

Edit: I also traded VJ to the Seahawks for their first round pick and they finished.... 10-6 as Division Champs!

I really wish there was a level between All-Pro and All-Madden. I really don't feel like tweaking the setting to match what I want.

I just finished All-Pro by winning the superbowl w/ no losses all season. Broke all sorts of records. I upped my level to All-Madden and it isn't even fun.

You don't even have a shot on All-Madden. You can barely run, you have no time in the pocket at all, guys are trucking over five of your defenders at once and the pass defense is non existent.

When will they ever make the all-madden level realistic? Instead of a David vs. Goliath type play where all odds are against you? I remember a few years back, all-madden was at least playable. This year its another joke.

I just know with All-Madden, you have to play smart. Now, like I said earlier, I had like 300 some yards with Flacco through the air. And on defense, I got 3 picks from Big Ben and this was on All-Madden. The D is sick on All-Madden. So say Big Ben throws a deep pass, my coverage is really good, I take control and user pick.

However, the run game I will agree with you on. I try to run to the right and James Harrison racks up 100 tackles a game. I've been dropping 50 on All-Madden. AND if you get the CPU down early, he'll start throwing all game and if your defense is alert, you'll have a field day. But one problem I've come across is the running game for the opposing team! Like you said, they run all over your guys. If a runner can truck, Ray Lewis, Suggs and Ed Reed all in one play, somethings up haha. But yeah, I agree with making it more realistic concerning that.

I don't have a problem with passing the ball in all Madden. But Running the ball is near impossible. I went froma 5.6 average on All-Pro to a 1.1 Average on All-Madden. Then when the other teams run, they are trucking over Ray Lewis, Suggs and Ed Reed all on the same play!

Last night Shonn Greene made the Ravens D look like a Pee-wee league.

I agree with the pass defense being playable. But when it comes to pass protection for you it sucks.

Well, I just played the Steelers again on All-Madden to see if I was just all talk haha. First play, I throw INT. haha. But I rebounded and ended up winning. 4th and 10, 2 min left, down by 5...TD to Boldin! Then 3 consecutive sacks on Ben.

Flacco ended up with 250 yards, 2 TD's.
Clayton 103 yards (say what)
I actually did decent with Rice and picked up 67 yards and 2 TD's.

I mean it is playable, you just have to pick and choose good passes. As far as the running goes, I'm just constantly moving the stick to spin and juke, you break tackles every once and awhile. I was averaging 5 yards per carry, Idk what I ended up with. All-Madden is more competitive, but it can be frustrating when their HB's run all over you.

Why not just turn the Run D settings sliders all the way up on All Madden and then try that?(reaction time, block shedding, tackling I think it is)
