A receiver I highly recommend to anyone is Jomo Rucker. He goes in the first which is far from ideal and may drop the odd one or two passes when he's a rookie, but he is a flat beast before long. 6-4, great release, very speedy. Money on all the catches for me now.

I've got him now. I wasn't expecting much and he just moved up the depth chart. In fact, the game I played this morning, I hit the wrong button TWICE and ended up throwing to him by accident......both catches went for TD's.

Pretty much 90% of the times that I try to force it to him it works. I'll post some career stats later to show how ridiculous he is.

Scouted him, but I think Indy picked him up. I definitely remember double covering him though. haha
[/quote]

Yeah I have in in the 3rd sting position right now. So hes mostly covered by slower LBs and crappy 3rd string corners. I have boldin and housh on the outside with nevel in the middle. i may just keep him there because hes such a mismatch to defenses in the 3rd WR position. Hes got over 2000 recieving yrds on the season.

I've decided in my next Franchise to change to a 4-3 defense. I'm moving Woodley to DE and making Smith and Eason DT's. Farrior may be moved outside too if it works. Harrison will remain at ROLB and Timmons and Foote will remain on the inside.

Thoughts?

Having done fantasy drafts to build both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses I've come to the conclusion that a dominant 4-3 works better than a dominant 3-4 in Madden 11.

If you lineup correctly and send the Dline in a certain direction you can often get a free runner with either the Rush LB or LE because everyone else takes all the blocks.

Try and it and imo I bet you will be surprised that it works better. Having Keisel,Hampton,Smith,Woodley on the line would be scary with Harrison as the Rush LB. The only thing I would do different is I would keep Foote and Farrior inside and shift Timmons to weak side. Timmons would be an incredibly fun weak side LB to use in Madden because of how fast and agile he is, he's also great in coverage.

If you planned on playing more than a few seasons in it the first position I would target in the draft would be a MLB to replace Farrior.

Two things -

The one thing I love about the 3-4 is the extra ILB. I'd have to get used to the single ILB operating in that area all by himself.

The other thing is, maybe in Madden it will work, but in reality Timmons could never be an OLB. He's too light. Any TE, FB would block him right out.

That's one of the key things I liked about the 3-4 too but when you lineup in a 4-3 it seems like he has twice as much room to work with because the lineman are either penetrating or holding blocks.

Yea the Timmons at WLB was strictly Madden haha, he can cover any TE or RB in the game

I'll probably keep Timmons in the middle and still put him on TE's/RB's with one of the safeties coming down in zone. Have to see. Farrior may not work on the outside either though.

What I plan on doing is simulating EVERY SINGLE GAME to mimic the results of this season (league wide). I'll get the Steelers/Packers in the SB and if the Steelers win, I'll play it and try to win. If the Steelers lose, I'll sim it until they lose and then begin my new franchise.

So, I'll start the season in a 3-4 then transition and grab a 4-3 LB in the draft. I may have to trade a player I like to move up though. :(

I kind of like the 4-3 because it gives a chance for more run stopping ability, especially with having cody on our team. On the other hand I like having the extra LB to help aid in case a RB escapes, or if its a fast LB he could cover an extra WR/TE. Right now the plasy I pick are a mix, sometimes I put a play out with 4 lineman, and other times I play with 3 lineman and 4 linebackers; but I'll have to start keeping track of what seems to work better for me.

EA Sports has released the latest roster update and I believe it's the final one since this is the Super Bowl weekend. It actually looks like a great update for once, they added a bunch of players who they removed into Free Agency and that makes me happy because I been wanting to use Victor Cruz all season so I finally get to use him. The only bad thing for me is that for a bunch of old players who just don't retire after a few seasons into Franchise, I move their OVR all the way down to 12 to force them to retire after year 1 so they aren't sitting there in Free Agency every year being useless, plus it's good for actual retirements so anyone who retires in real life I can move their OVR down to 12 to simulate that on Madden.

Yea, that kid looked great in pre-season. A lot of talented guys ahead of him though. Be tough to see the field. Do you know what's funny? The Giants have been known to let good WR's go (Ed McCaffery and Joe Jurevicious just to name a couple).

yeah he did. my best friend is a giants fan and he told me to youtube some of Cruz's plays. He had some nice catches, but yeah he has a lot of talented guys ahead of him. (Smith if they keep him, Nicks, Manningham, along with Hagan and Barden has competition). Its also funny though cause they have had their fair share (as most teams do) of WR's that don't do anything. (Sinorice Moss, who many people thought was gonna be as good as his brother, Santana. And before this past season Manningham underachieved.)

Sinorice Moss has done nothing for the G-Men. I was shocked when he remained on the team.

There's gonna be one more.

We will have one final roster update after the Super Bowl for both the online rosters and online franchise. This will have final rating adjustments as well as final end-of-season depth charts/rosters for the Steelers and Packers.

Not sure what I did to my sliders but WOW! Talk about parity and competition. I was beating B-More 13-0 with only a 2.5 minutes left in the 3rd qtr (8 minute qtrs) and all of a sudden WHAM! I'm down 14-13 with 2:00 left. I lost. I was dominating on defense and I thought I could run the clock down. They scored once on a rush by Mcgahee (missed tackle by Clark) and then a scoop and score on a special teams fumble. I had to settle for a 57 yard FG try (thanks to poor play calling). had it been a 55 yarder, I would have won. But what a game!

I'm 8-3 right now. Ravens are 9-2 and we play again in week 17 at Heinz Field.

So I am playing my Superstar, SS on the Lions and take a look at the stats. JJ is lighting it up with 88 tackles, which is 4 behind Beason for the league lead. Next leading tackler on the Ravens is Ray with 50 lol, JJ also has 7 sacks.

The Lions 1st and 3rd round draft picks N.Suh and MC.Primetime are going to turn them into contenders. ^_^

He should just post them on here as I would love to hear them as well. I know Wardy puts in a lot of time in getting the sliders to match real play. I'm sick and tired of playing with the defaults.

Yeah I agree, I would be interested in seeing his sliders. Just found GREAT Sliders on Operation Sports Forum. I just completed a half against the Patriots, and I'm using the Ravens. I got to get use to the Normal Speed Setting but other than that everything is great and realistic. With the exception of 2 Interceptions by Kindle and McClain which were returned for Touchdowns, I would be losing 24 to 0 instead of being down 24-14.

Waiting to see if the Ravens come to life in the second half to stay true to their real life counterparts that only play good for one half lol.

Edit: Yep, they came to life lol. I got the ball back to start the 3rd and Ray Rice came out running and ran over their defense. McGahee came in when we got closer to the end zone and piled it in for a TD to make it 21 to 24. They scored a FG, making it 21 to 27, and late in the 4th Joe threw 2 interceptions that were crucial including 1 that was returned for a TD and they went for 2 and missed. Todd Heap ran for a TD on a desperate 3rd & 19 attempt and that was it.

Final Score:
Patriots 33
Ravens 27

Sure,. probably not playing today, but at some point I'll try to copy them down for you. TO be honest I started out will all user settings at 33. CPU was mostly up around 75-80.

So I beat the Ravens (20-14). Very intense game. Ravens owned the first half and I owned the second. They made the playoffs at 11-5 and lost to Indy.
