No, the North American street date is still Tuesday, August 10th. U.S. retailers are notorious for breaking street dates, however. Usually, Gamestop will get their copies on the week prior to release and will keep them in the storeroom until the release date...but some copies here and there might be sold early just to make a quick buck or to build customer loyalty. This is how the general public tends to get early copies. It's all in who you know...

I feel cheated, it's another 5-6 days 'til I get mine. Living in the UK sucks when you're trying to get Madden/NCAA.

That's not how it works up here in Canada. Unless they have a pre-order for the game or host a midnight release we always have to wait for the release date. Other than those I am almost positive it is illegal in Canada to sell games or even movies before the release date. Here once it hits the shelf they are usually gone pretty quickly because they make people wait on the release date.(big name games and least)

I still should be able to get my copy next week. It comes out the following Tuesday doesn't it.

Are you going with Amazon w/ Prime again this year for your Madden? It was a pretty sweet deal this year. Release day delivery plus a $20 discount card for a future game.

Probably, but I also have to think realistically about whether I'll be getting another game in the coming months to use that $20 credit on. Plus, I have no PS3 to play it on (for now), so I might consider waiting...

I still wish that there'd be a better discount than what they've got now. It's listed as $59.12 but there's a chance that there could be last-minute price drop.

That's right, no PS3. That has to be tough with Madden coming out. Actually I know that feeling, happened to me last year.

I would, but they tend to be the same price in Pounds as they are in Dollars. No way am I paying £60 ($90 odd) for a game, particularly if it's a yearly installation.

Yeah, that's true, but I also have an inkling they might drop the retail price by $5 or even $10 a day or two after release. The $20 videogame credit is nice, but I really don't know if I'm looking forward to any other games the rest of this year. Plus, there's the outside chance the credit could be one with an expiration date; most of them don't have a date, but a couple of the ones I've gotten lately have had them.

lucky lucky lucky. I work in the back room at Wal Mart and I know they got their shipment in at least a week or two ago. I even asked the manager if one of the perks of wal mart was being able to buy a game before the release date. But he said no haha. But I will pick mine up at midnight!

So it's been sitting there, in the back, for the past couple of weeks, where you've been working and a copy hasn't mysteriously gone missing with $60 left in its place?

alot of those retail places their registers hardlock street dates(won't allow them to be sold until the date),i know been trying to get my girl to get me a copy from target but it won't let it thru

haha I actually thought about just grabbing one before I left and taking it to a register where an old woman was working. I just figured I'd get up there and it would say "item not found," depending if it was in the system already or not.

Chances are the old woman would have been a huge madden fan and I'm busted haha

I have a bud who works at Wally world in the back as well, he gets to work in the lockup sometimes. He was talking like he could get a few but never know how serious he was.
