1-10 for me is any Raven's LB, any Raven's back up LB and any body the Raven's may accidentally play at LB.....#11 would be Adalius #12 Urlacher, #13 Vilma, #14 Bulluck, #15 Demeco Ryans

what you think of AJ Hawks rookie year?

I saw a few games (admittingly Green Bay is boring too watch) and he played well and was very physical when I saw him.

I think Baltimore has a system for producing great LBs

take a look,

Ray Lewis

Jamie Sharper

Peter Boulware

Ed Hartwell

Terrell Suggs

Bart Scott

Adalius Thomas

But,

for the ones who have left have suddenly become horrible.

Demeco Ryans was a product of a bad defense where someone had to make alot of tackles. Most of his tackles were after 5 yards, so I don't even really put him in the top 20 yet.

Ray, Vilma, Urlacher, A.D., Zach Thomas, Fletcher, Merriman, Julian Peterson, just to name a few:

Vastly Underated: Donnie Edwards, Karlos Dansby, D.J. Williams and as much as I hate to say it, James Farrior.

Demeco Ryans is a tackle machine type LB...big runs on the texans were away from demeco

and if you want to talk about a product of a bad defense how do you think london's got so many tackles since takeo spikes has been injured for the past 2 years

and merriman is a cheater

I agree with Donnie being vastly underrated and it's pathetic that SD kept trying to get rid of him despite him always producing.

As for JP I'm not really a fan of his, he's explosive and he's obviously got the speed but he was hardly effective at the point of attack. Seattle, imo, found the best way to use him and that's as a rush end on passing downs.

its funny how seattle was supposed to have the best LB tandem going into the season and they are pretty much just known for backs running them over.

AJ Hawk played pretty well overall during his rookie year IMO. Decent numbers for a rookie season but it sure seemed like he was there on almost every play the GB defense needed.

As far as the list goes can't argue really with Baltimore's LB core I'd probably have to put either Lewis or Urlacher as #1 overall right now. I'm hoping Wimbley can get into the discussion this season at some point. He didn't have a huge amount of tackles (which can be a padded stat anyways) but his 11 sacks were nice for a rookie campaign.

And appreciate the kudos for D'Qwell I hope he can mature into a monster LB as well!

Ware over Urlacher is a little crazy

Julian Peterson cannot be on there considering how bad the seahawks were at tackling last year..

i know buffalo was bad too at tackling and i have takeo but i noticed a ton of big runs away from takeo...once his injury healed he was hittin hard again

Cato June...bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!a LB has to be able to tackle so he cant be on there

Rosevelt Colvin is a little crazy...his sacks are from a ton of penetration from a slow d-line that doesnt hit the QB Seymoure,Warren,Wilfork

Mike Vrabel...are you counting in how he can also catch or something

atleast no merriman you recognize hes a cheater

I get what ur saying but why would u put up Keith Bullock or Derrick Brooks? everyone knows there all washed up. atleast Julian Peterson still has some speed. if i were 2 take off anyone i guess it wud be cato june. and i wud replace him with Zach Thomas or Vilma. But seriously man. Ernie Sims??? ive barely heard about him. isnt he on the lions? but how cud u have him up and not Demarcus?

Ernie Sims was pretty good last year 124 tackles from an OLB and they were good tackles most of the time...rarely got ran over.

Bulluck is the same way a LB with a ton of tackles that rarely gets ran over 4-3 LBs arent gonna be huge big play guys most of the time so thats what i usually go by.

Derrick Brooks yea hes pretty washed up

The thing with Sims is that he's the only person on that team that knows how to tackle someone. On teams with horrible defenses, it's not really that unusual for the MLB to pull down a huge number of tackles, especially if the defensive line is suspect. See: DeMeco Ryans, Gary Brackett, Lemar Marshall, Antonio Pierce and Nick Barnett.

1 RAY LEWIS

2 TAKEO SPIKES

3 BRIAN URLACHER

4 ZACH THOMAS

5 KEITH BULLUCK

6 JONATHAN VILMA

7 BART SCOTT

8 TERELL SUGGS

9 ERNIE SIMS

10 DERRICK BROOKS

Think it should be

1. Ray Ray

2. AD

3. Bart Scott

4. Terrell Suggs

5. Takeo Spikes

6. Brian Urlacher

7. Jonathan Vilma

8. Derrick Brooks

9. Zach Thomas

10. Keith Bullock

Mention AD because he is normally a LB even though he play's like 8 dif Position's that beast!, Oh yeah I agree with you as well not mentioning Mr. Merriman because of his roids issue.... even though I should he is from MD :).

Ernie Sims is an OLB

but that boy knows how to hit its not just because of the 2 great DTs and no one else hitting

same with Demeco Ryans

i know no colt linebacker or redskin linebacker tackled well last year even those

one LB whos stats are really false to their skills is cato june

i watched the tennessee game i saw him get ran over 4 times just in that game. if your gonna do that then who cares if you have 108 tackles...Jacksonville game as well.

brilliant man just for mentioning Spikes,Bulluck and Vilma....Bulluck and Vilma are underrated and most people dont realize Takeo is still elite...ravens and charger fans should tho because he looked like his old self in those games

ray lewis and brian urlacher are the top two plain and simple. sean merriman is overrated

I think the steroid thing hurts him in the eyes of the public but in terms of what he brings to the table and his pass rushing, It reminds me of Derrick Thomas' first two years in the league. Remember he was a 20 sack rookie but after the initial explosion on to the scene people/fans started to take him for granted and anything he did on the field wasn't viewed as beign extraordinary but started to be viewed as expected....

Bulluck and Vilma are great, but Spikes' injuries might have eroded his stock a bit. He's no doubt still good, but is he still top 10?

well there are a few things that people will try and use to say why Spikes wont be back

1-not being able to perform without a huge behemoth(like Pat Williams)...he was still damn good in Cincinatti without any good DT at all

2-the injury which is the main thing well against LaDanian Tomlinson he was crunching him(just too bad Crowell and Elliston let him go by for huge chunks(which explains why his return didnt help the run defense cause they knew you could just run at elliston...

see a LB with no good DTs is gonna have a hard time recovering.

against the Lions as well i noticed this with Kevin Jones

his bad games

1-Houston 2 assist tackles...come on man get off the block

2-Jacksonville 5 assist tackles...get offf the block man

and his bad tackling game...that would be against the Titans..yeah watchin Travis Henry knock him down twice after doin great against LaDanian Tomlinson

made up for it against us...hitting Jamal Lewis,Ovi Mughelli hard

over the years he has been as good a 4-3 OLB as their can be

he has more motivation now that hes on a legitimate contender

considering his best game was his last one(ofcourse shutting down Jamal Lewis wouldve been alot more impressive back in 04) id say hed be back

He had the same injury that Peterson had and it took Peterson 2 seasons to get back to speed and perform like he did last year. I think there's a chance he can come back but not only is he coming off an injury but he's been in the league for a hot minute.

if Peterson could recover Spikes probably could too..

i know hes been in the league since 1998 but what makes me think so is because of his game against the Ravens
