Referee Admits Mistakes In 2006 Superbowl

11 posts in this topic

Found this article interesting even though everybody knew there were mistake, but it is nice to hear it come from the horses *. The referee admits to botching two calls in the fourth quarter of the Seahawks-Steelers 2006 superbowl which "impacted the game".

Ofcourse the Steelers went on to win that Superbowl.

I think we all knew mistakes were made in regards to calling that game but what good does it do to say hey I botched some calls in that game 5 years later?

I think if he would have came out at the end of the game and told the League he made some mistakes in calls that effected the game, and said he wants to go in public and make a public apology than ok that would have been much better than waiting 5 years to go apologize. I mean at this point, does Seattle fans even care anymore? I mean if Seattle fans are still going on about how they were "screwed" from winning the SB and not talking about the very bright future they have with their CURRENT team than something is wrong.

Now what I want to know is if this guy is apologizing for something that happened 5 years ago, I want a apology from the Refs who called the 2007 Monday Night Game against the Patriots for costing us that game.

In all honesty, I didn't even watch either of the Steeler's Superbowls. I knew what the outcome was going to be, so I decided not to even put myself through it.

Especially the last Superbowl, after the Ravens lost to them. I didn't have any interest in watching that game at all.

2 Calls in the 4th quarter, but he didn't say which ones.

Offsides on Clark Haggans and the Personal Foul on Hasselbeck?

No, it was more like 'letting them win the SuperBowl' as the first mistake, then 'letting Hiney Warts get by with crying to refs about how bad the other team was treating him, while at the same time he was laughing about how he was cheap shotting the Seahawks'. But in all honesty, that games was 4 and a half years ago.... its about time to get over it and start apologizing for giving Tom Brady any flag he wants to be given to other D's, and stop penalizing our corners for doing nothing wrong, just because they want to see Ray get mad and tackle them so they can feel how hard he hits.

I'd also like an apology from Rex Ryan for the worst time out ever in the history of football.
