"Purple Nurple: It’s a coaches job/right/responsibility/duty/need/burden to yell at/coddle/teach/mentor/lead/guide players. Relax, he’s our coach, not our guidance councilor. Let him yell I say!

theFRANCHISE: I want to see our guys getting yelled at on either side of the ball every once in awhile. I want players pulled aside and told what they did wrong. I want to see a private huddle on the side away from the rest of the team, with no word on what was said thereafter. It shows that the coaching staff cares and that the players are being held accountable."

Maybe I'm just overreacting, but I think its cool that we get some attention here. Not all of us are idiots and we have some intelligent points to say from time to time.

We Moderators say it over and over again, but more people read this message board than you realize.

Long-snapper Matt Katula made reference to how his mother would call him up, telling him about the harsh criticism she'd read online of his performance and how much it bothered her. The Baltimore Sun's beat writers make oblique references to us from time-to-time. Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider on Twitter) of The National Football Post and Scout.com is fully aware of us and touches base with some of our Mods on a semi-regular basis. And, of course, BaltimoreRavens.com writers know of each and every one of us and read our posts regularly, especially when they're looking for ideas for articles.

This is why we're adamant about nipping personal attacks on players in the bud and clean up our content as best as we can. We don't want players' mothers seeing complete strangers make unfounded statements about their sons' character, and we don't want to cause anyone anymore undue grief than they're already receiving from overzealous fans in-person. Criticism is an entirely different matter, and we welcome contrarian thoughts so long as they're supported intelligently and without being incendiary or malicious. Additionally, we don't want our fans to come across as jerks, so that's why we also get rid of rude posts or anything that crosses that PG or PG-13 boundary (the content of PG-13 films these days, notwithstanding).

So take pride, everyone! Your thoughts aren't hollow and your words don't go unnoticed! :)

I think that may also be the first time the words "Purple Nurple" have appeared on a Ravens blog, before haha. I could be wrong, though - Mike Duffy gets a little carried away sometimes...

Colts fans? Didn't a whopping 11 of them show up at the airport after the Superbowl? >.<

Anyways, it's always fun when your post shows up on the Late for Work. I'm glad that we all have a shot.

I've heard radio personalities reference reading the boards and talking about how Ravens fans are feeling about certain things.

Anita Marks used to reference us all the time (I think most of her notes were plagiarized from here lol)
