Who's throwing out the negs here, I'd like to know so I can laugh at you when Favre suits up.

I saw an interview with Favre last week and he was expressing his unhappiness with still having pain and the slow healing of his ankle-- I just shook my head EVERYTHING takes longer to heal and hurts more after 40 lol

After the past two offseasons, I won't believe Favre is done until the season starts and Bret's sitting at home watching for a change. I cannot stomach the Favre Soap Opera, so I truly hope he hangs it up. Don't get me wrong, I respect Favre for everything he's done for the sport, but his actions over the past few years of "Will He, Won't He" has worn out his welcome with me.

Brett Favre has become such a joke when it comes to retirement. He'll be back...why would he turn down a starting job with a super bowl contender (when he's the QB)? He's just missing as much of training camp as he can...probably a great idea on his part.

Vikings offered Brett Favre $16 Million guaranteed plus $4 million in incentives for 2010.

Seriously, someone's not telling the whole truth. If he's contacted players and told them that he isn't playing next year, why has he not announced it formally or told the people that matter, like Childress and the FO?

I was thinking the same thing. And I'm not sure if I ever heard reports of him saying the exact words, "I'm going to retire this year and I will not play in 2010". He texted Adam Schefler "this is it". This is what Brett? This is the time you are going to make your decision? This is the last year you are playing. I detest Brett Favre. I don't care how good his stats are.

I hate it that the past two years, the off-season has been all about Brett. For god sake, his agent was right...he IS a drama queen and this proves it once again. I too have gotten sick of the man.

According to ESPN's SportsCenter Twitter feed, Favre said he hasn't made any plans yet and his return to the Vikings is dependent on his health. It also helps that Favre is being offered a new deal that could pay up to $20 million with incentives, with $16 million guaranteed. Favre wants money that Peyton Manniing and Tom Brady are getting. the 70-80 million deals. lolz
Uh... no. That's really not the case. First off, Favre says it's about his health, not the money, Secondly, Favre knows he's not going to get a deal worth anywhere near that much. He's too old to invest that much money into a person, his health is questionable once he starts taking hits, and, frankly, he's screwed himself with his little "Will I, Won't I" game he likes to play every offseason.

And now the plot thickens! Favre claims he never sent any texts to Viking players or officials claiming he was retiring. How can Favre even stomach doing the same shenanigans for the third straight offseason? It's ridiculous, childish, and is only doing damage to the public opinion of his career (since there's no way to downplay those statistics he's put up). We understand Brett, you love playing football.

It's Official! Brett Favre is returning.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/17/all-signs-point-to-brett-favre-announcing-return-tuesday/
Exactly one year from the day Brad Childress first chauffeured Favre to the Minnesota Vikings facility, there are multiple indications that Favre has finally decided to return to the team for the 2010 season.

Scott Hanson of NFL Network reports that Favre is on a jet heading north to Minnesota. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirms Favre is on a flight to Minnesota. Although this gives him extra time to change his mind.

UPDATE II: Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Favre told the trio of Vikings who came to persuade him to return that he is "back in" and he's on a plane to Minnesota now.
So whoever had Favre in our FF league you are now safe to keep Favre though I think it was safe to keep him all along. This now just makes it official that he is returning. The Saints must be licking their chops knowing they get to take Favre down again.

Yes!!! Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin's stock just rose.

Also, on a side note, I think we all knew that eventually this was going to happen and I am personally excited to see what happens next season (assuming he doesn't suffer a career ending injury) and what team he goes to or tricks into thinking he is going too.

Seriously am I the only one that hopes someone puts Brett on the shelf "for good" very early in the season or what? It's a damn shame a player with such a career will probably be remembered most for his drama the last few seasons of his career. Trade in the uni for the Wranglers already dude!

Bret Favre is the stylin' and profilin', jet-flyin', limosine-ridin' kiss-stealin', wheelin'-dealin' son of a gun.

Need I say more?

I never advocate any player on any team being injured, ever. Though I have grown more than weary of the Favre drama. Can't he just buy the dang TV already?

Funny thing is you call him a drama queen, yet Brady is the biggest drama queen.

Brett Favre has said he was retired ONCE and that was with the Packers. The media started the other crap so blame the right people not the Hall of Fame QB who plays better than 25 year olds.

Haters gonna hate.

Also you guys wouldn't be saying this if Ray Lewis announced retirement and came back year after year.

Also, MASON did do this.

Im glad Favre is back, it's good for the NFL.
