I feel even worse for owners who drafted Sidney Rice so early! At least Favre was going later and teams were picking up quality backups to ensure.

Well.... I'll believe it when he isn't under Center for the Vikings Come Thursday Sept 9th against the Saints.

OK Never Mind, just checked my fantasy teams and I did not draft Favre.

Haha TJ is probably chomping at the bits ready to start at QB again..... I guess Jimmy Clausen would have been a good choice to draft. lolz

Packers will own that division

Well I'll say this, if Favre does officially call it quits for good, than it will be good for fantasy owners with AP because they probably would go back to the run game with Favre gone.

Oh Yeah they screwed themselves by not drafting a Franchise QB. I mean Clausen, heck they could have traded for McNabb, Jason Campbell, etc.

If I were them I'd try to trade with the pantehrs and get that QB they drafted in later rounds, he was the Cincinatti QB. Tony Pike? I mean wasn't the kid a Top QB of that class and just fell down in the draft?

If I was the Viking's I'd make a trade for Pike if they dont trust TJ or Sage Rosenfels.

Exactly. I expect Vick trade talk to heat up now that Favre is retiring for the 3rd time. I also can see people throwing out Troy's name for trade bait as well. I just can't see the Vikings going into the season with Jackson as QB, they will pull the trigger on a trade or hope Favre un-retires again.

If this retirement holds true... This just gave the Packers the division.

Now Favre retirement really brings in the question, Who are the top 5 teams in NFC? Lets afce it, without Favre, the Vikings are now out of the picture.

I say

1. Saints
2. Cowboys
3. Packers
4. Falcons
5. Giants

This is just Favre's way of getting out of training camp. He's avoided camp for how many straight seasons now? My prediction, he'll "unretire" again right before the beginning of the regular season.

I realy like Tavaris Jackson as a starter.
He's no Favre but I think he can be a fine starter in the NFL
What games of Tavaris Jackson have you been watching? Are we thinking about the same guy?

Jackson looked good last Preseason when Favre was looking horrible. I think they have their Franchise QB in either Sage or Tavaris. Sage Rosenfels isnt a slouch either. He looked great in Houston when Schaub was out

The same Sage Rosenfels that had 6 tds and 10 interceptions and had a huge fumble against the Colts that lost the game with a huge lead in 2008? Or the Tavaras Jackson with a under 60% career average completion percentage? Franchise QB?

Maybe Jackson because looking at his stats he has improved. But when we are looking at Franchise Qb's Tavaras Jackson I doubt has any more of a ceiling than a David Gerrard type player.

And performing well in the preseason doesn't prove anything to me. How many starters did he play against? And starters don't play on the same level in preseason games.

Favre is eventually going to be playing with a walker on the field, or one of those electric scooter things at grocery stores
That would be sweet. They could put a helmet on it and designate it as a fullback.

I have Sidney Rice AND Percy Harvin in one of my leagues

Well, I'm still not worried. TJ isn't that bad, Favre will probably come back, and even if he doesn't they will be forced to pass when Adrian's bad case of fumbilitis kicks in.

Hold The Presses! We have a family source that says Favre hasn't decided yet.... oh boy.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/03/report-family-source-says-favre-has-made-no-decision/
Jones reports, citing an unnamed family source, that no decision has been made by Favre regarding whether he'll retire for the third annual year.

"Brett has not made a commitment to play or a decision to return at this point," the source said.

And so the end result will be more money for Favre and the ability to show up on the Friday before the first game, giving him six days to prepare to face the Saints on September 9.
So who knows what's going on but right now I think the bolded part at the end has more truth to it than Favre retiring and calling it quits for real.

Quarterbacks get hit less than any other position, and ussually not as hard. Why would he not want to play if the Vikings offer him that extra 15 mil that it sounds like they will.

$30 million + Legit shot at a Super Bowl = Happy Favre
