Not really.....if Mase were to go down (hope to god he doesnt), we'd be right back to where we've been for years. A great possession receiver and Stalls/Clayton as the #2. As much as people dont want to admit it, Stalls and Clayton are very comparable.
Well I guess I have faith in some of the younger guys too. Apparently Harper has decided to catch the ball this year, David Reed is impressive, among others. I also disagree about Stalls/Clayton. Stallworth is more of a burner on the outside.

I hear ya Runnin Raven......

By the way -

Clayton has had 50 receptions over 20 yards in 234 receptions (5 seasons)
Stalls has had 83 over 20 yards in 296 receptions (7 seasons)

With whats stated above, Clayton averages 10 receptions over 20 yards each year while Stalls averages 11.85 receptions over 20 yards each year....pretty comparable.

Clayton also averages more receptions per year than Stalls by about 4 (minor, but trying to continue proving my point everytime someone says Stalls is head and shoulders better than Clayton).

On top of that, Stalls averages 626 yards per year and Clayton is 623....

Bottom line, they are VERY similar players :)

Well you certainly did your homework :D ! I really hope the young guys step up, and that includes Riley. They may have a chance to shine if Mase misses a few practices.

I just want MASON back out there asap. I hate these damn injuries.

Is there a thread on here with just updates on injuries? I see a hamstring listed as the problem with K.J. Gerard posted on Twitter.

You have to wonder, if there are so many of these injuries happening in training camp how are these guys going to last for 16 games?

If I hear about another training camp injury I may just cry.

Bro, give me some stats to support your side. I gave a very in depth, detailed analysis as to how I see the two.

This post does nothing for you except cement the fact that you're posting just to post.

Oh, yes I agree! Thanks for the insight!
You are not telling us anything new and forget about stats I don't see any "degits" or numbers in your postings either.
"What" That is exactly what I'm talking about bub!

I wasnt looking to give you anything new that you didnt already know. Its called a debate and I was proving my stance that I feel Stalls and Clayton are very comparable.

At least we're pretty deep at wideout (knock on wood).

Is that a joke?

In a way, it might be worse because, unlike Boldin, Mason has had a habit of staying on the field.

Not worried about Mason missing time. He knows the system and is in good shape and him and Flacco know where each other are going to be on the field at the same time. The ankle injury doesn't sound serious and it sounds like we are going to have him back on the field in a week or two at worst.

aaron wilson saying its a sprain, not sure how bad.
Mason is tough as nails. It is just an ankle sprain from everything I am hearing for now so hopefully he will only be out for a few day's.

http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2010/08/03/mason-sprains-ankle-helped-off-field/

"On the play, Mason caught a pass along the right sideline and was popped by safety Dawan Landry, causing a fumble. The hit seemed to be innocuous, but Mason stayed down on the turf, prompting trainers to run out."

innocuous-not harmful or offensive (I didn't know what it meant so I looked it up before)

Sounds like it was a fair hit. He isn't going out to hurt people. Just play the game. People roll ankles, people get hit hard. It's not his fault he's in every play...or maybe it is.

Ahh yes, nothing would feel better than watching Landry level Mark Sanchez from his blind side. I don't wish injuries on players, but having Ryan in tears the whole game because the "Sanchize" is out would be the best. Who's even the second team QB for them?

On a side note, no, Dawan does not need to tone it down in TC. He's a Strong Safety, do you expect him to hug the WR that makes the play, even if that player is on our team? He's two years removed from a neck injury, if he doesn't go for the hard hit, he might lose confidence in his abilities and be afraid to re-injure his neck. The players don't put the pads on to not get hit, let him play. Unless it's to a defenseless WR or TE (which he would never do to one of our players), then I can see why he needs to tone it down, but the term "innocuous" says it all.
