I know we are stocked at the Wideout position, but do you guys think that it could be for Malcom Kelly? The Redskins have been rumored to release him for a while now and maybe that is the value we could get for beck.(former 2nd round pick with potential) Just an idea!

I wouldn't see Ozzie pull a move like that to be honest. If he is trading our guys he is either trying to build depth at a position that we may be weak in or building picks up for next years draft to fill those same needs with youth in the draft.

I could honestly see us looking at him but I don't see the Skins' trading him away for John Beck.

That would be nuts. Of course we'd probably be giving up a pick too. They give up Rodgers for Beck.

Yea who knows what is really going on, but it would be sweet if we get something real good in return. We don't make a lot of stupid moves so my hopes are up for a decent player or later draft pick that could possibly be used for a trade in next years draft.

Doug Dutch

After going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, Dutch was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins on April 27, 2009. Dutch received very little playing time through out the Redskins first 3 preseason games and did not record any statistics. During the preseason finale however, Dutch got more playing time and made the most of it by recording 3 tackles and playing well in coverage. After trying to make the Redskins 53-man roster or practice squad, Dutch was let go during the final cuts on September 5, 2009. Dutch then tried to make the Las Vegas Locomotives roster but was cut before the season started. On November 16, 2009 Dutch was signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad. On January 5, 2010 he signed a reserve/futures contract with the Redskins.

Dutch is a Maryland kid. Does that count as a plus?
[/quote]
Sure! We love em' home grown..lol. I don't know much about the kid but Ozzie and company must have seen something to go out and trade for him. I think it's a plus either way due to Beck most likely being cut after camp anyways. Getting a young corner to help compete and push other guys and add depth was a good move and hopefully this guy pans out in our schemes.

Heck, Frank Walker was drafted into their league and turned them down, but Dutch tried to get into their league and was turned down by them??? Lets bring Frank back, please.

You think that we were going to get Revis for John Beck? Hopefully this kid is like Cary Williams and plays well. The good news is the Redskins secondary is stacked so it makes sense why he never played. Hopefully this is the situation where he just never got a chance to show his potiential with so many starters

Depth at offensive line and cornerback cannot be stressed enough. Not just for the Ravens, but for all teams in the league since those positions generally see the most injuries.

I'll take whoever we can get, at this point.

His Michigan Days

Dutch attended The University of Michigan from 2004-2008. He started out his collegiate football career as a wide receiver wearing the number 81. He redshirted his freshman year. During his sophomore year he saw limited time as a reserve wide receiver and punt returner, catching 4 passes for 34 yards and returning 2 punts for 9 yards. Before his senior season he converted to cornerback and switched to number 35. He saw limited time on special teams and recorded one tackle. Dutch was again a reserve defensive back and special teamer during his final year of eligibility in 2008.

sos basically a kid with virtually limited experience playing onthe field, well I guess we wait and see how he pans out.

Amen! Maybe we'll trade him to the Baltimore Mariners Semi-Pro league and get Scorpio Brown out of the deal??

I think this was a just a "We need to bring in CBs just so that we can practice" moves. We really do not need 4 QBs on the roster. Dutch is right down the road and can be in camp tomorrow morning for practice.

What were you guys expected we ship Beck off for a starting CB? Or even a 2nd, 3rd fourth string CB?

Great they replace our Foxy with a practice squadder. Yay!

Dutch hasn't been brought in to replace Foxworth.
