Better to get your "welcome to the NFL" moment in practice than during a game.

Why do the colts keep Bob Sanders.... he's pretty injury prone AND overrated
[/quote]

Hey I can agree with that. Sanders can't seem to stay on the field at all. Its frustrating.

All this back and fourth over players with tendencies to come up with an injury. This is the most physical game played in the world. These athletes know what they are putting their bodies through. Some say its for the love of the game but the fact remains we all know its about the money. Some players while stricken with the injury bug still maintain a resonable amount of quality time on the field producing for their perspective team. Its all about the high risk, high reward. Is my guy worth, to my team, what he gives in return for what he is paid. For the Ravens, Todd Heap is with out a doubt worth the risk for what he brings to the table. Bob Sanders, I dont know, I will let you speculate for your team.

With all that said and done I believe Todd Heap is extremely valuable to the Ravens even if he were to get injured. We have younger guys on this team who can pick his brain for useful knowledge on how to be a successful, highly valued at his position, productive member of the Ravens on and off the field.

I'm not worried about heap being injured because during the season he guts out a few games hurt.. if he has to miss some training camp at least the 2 rookies get more reps in the offense.

Hopefully having Dickson and Pitta will mean Heap will see less snaps and be fresher when it counts. That might also translate into fewer injuries.

Heap is an important part of this offense and a great mentor for our young tandem of TE's. The thought of releasing him is ridiculous- we need him this year. After another 2-3 years I think Heap will pass the torch to the young guys and retire a RAVEN (And get a spot on the Ring of Honor of course).
