Harbs has gotta be tired of Heap finding himself in these situations.

Because if anyone needs training camp, it's Todd Heap!

Seriously, though, this seems very minor. Ravens officials have just labeled it as an 'illness' so there's no need to get upset over it. I don't think the rookies or Davon Drew are going to threaten Heap's starting role.

Doesn't bother me. It'll be easier on his body to sit out most of camp anyway and this will allow for the rookies to get more and more work.

Could be from the heat.

Curious about this too, since it was rather comfortable here today.

As for Heap, I'm not too concerned since it's just camp right now. As long as it doesn't become an on-going trend this season, I'm not worried one bit.

This sounds pretty minor to me.

Why do the Ravens keep Heap? He had one good year that injury after that. I like the guy but he can't stay on the field.

Really? How many games did he miss last year?

It's a common misconception. But Heap actually played in all 16 games the past two seasons! He had two seasons that were limited by injury and he played 16 games in 6 out of his 9 seasons. It's not to bad.

He had 6 TDs last year. How is that not productive.

Plus on top of that, his past injuries was because he put his body on the line to make tough catches down the middle only to be blindsided by a LB. Heap was helping Boller out, but Boller was not helping Heap out.

Heap will be fine.

Very weak effort.
:feedtroll:

And like a true troll he'll ignore Heap's numbers and games played stats. And his critical 3rd down catches in playoff games, and his willingness to sacrifice his body and still hold onto the ball, and his willingness to unselfishly accept a reduced role to pass and run block. Yep, let's dump him in favor of a rookie or Davon Drew.

But he likes the guy, so its OK.

Thank you for saying this. I get so tired of the sad sack fan that thinks he knows everything about this team. Todd Heap is another fine example of what it means to BE and Play Like A Raven.

Well the reports from 105.7 say that Todd Heap has made it out onto the field. He's on the sideline wearing a baseball cap catching some passes.

So it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.

I'm sorry you all feel this way towards me, I'm not saying Heap is not a good football player at all. But he does have history of being injuried a good bit during his carrear. I live in the area and I'v watched my share of Ravens games, more than most Ravens fans and I have a pretty good idea what it means to play like a Raven. Yes Heap is good but you can be pretty sure he will miss some games this season.

Looking at his carrear stats he really doesn't miss many game but for some reason he has the impression of being hurt all the time. Maybe because he seems to get banged up every game but he doesn't miss the next game.

See this is what I was talking about. You have no idea, unless you can see the future, what will happen this year. I think you are just wishfully thinking that Heap will miss some games this year. Take your negativity somewhere else.

last time i checked it was the nfl and any player risk injury on every play including peyton or atleast when peyton isnt falling on the ground cuz hes scared to take a sack. back on point tho heap has been solid for the last 2 season for flacco as was mentioned played a reduced role. with the additions of dickson and pitta hes going to get breaks where as the last 2 seasons hes had to be there. which leads me to believe that heap will be just fine.

now please explain ur reasoning behind your thinking? or is it just because you live in the area and watch a few games know more than us about heap?

Why are we even worried about this? Todd Heap will be fine. Its not like we don't have depth at that position anyway. We need to be worried about this Foxworth Situation.

The weather was absolutely perfect today. The temperature was in the mid-to-high 80's with a constant breeze. Heap probably has a flu bug or something. No big deal.

Todd Heap has not missed a game in the last two seasons, and has played 16 games in 4 of the last 5 seasons. Hardly "can't stay on the field" to me.
