The better gauge of where he's at in his development will be pre-season. He certainly has good size; we'll see what he does.

It would be nice if K.J. could develop into a quality corner. Hopefully he can get some work every now and then with the first-team defense in camp.

I think the guy has a ton of potential. He was an undrafted free agent, made the team, and made his way up to the active roster. He's got excellent size, and I've heard nothing but good things about him. I'm rooting for this guy.

I have to agree but, to see his true potential will be the amount of playing time and his coverage against #1's. Should he be delegated to playing only with the 2nd squad, we won't see a true picture.

Gerard has tremendous upside, I'm anxious to see how he develops. He had a solid camp last year, seemingly a solid camp this year. Hopefully that eventually molds into a solid career and a stand-out homegrown cornerback for the Ravens.

This sounds great for our depleted CB corp right now. A good standout guy at CB is exactly what we need right now. Would it not be amazing for him to show that his play has truly evelvated and developed into a #1 or #2 CB. I would love to hear that hes on the 1st team in camp playing shut down Ball.

He practiced well last year also. but only made it to special teams in a couple of games. Last yr he was learning Safety position... I think if this kid can pick up some decent technique and learn to watch film perhaps he could play well for us

Sorry ladies and gents i have watched every video on this site and his foot work is terrible. He constantly gets burnt this can't be the best that we have. If you doubt me watch the training camp videos.

Yeah, cuz the videos show every single minute of practice. They show every play, and every drill./sarcasm
You can't rely on limited videos to show you insight into the abilities of a player. Also, we didn't state he was the best we have, only that he has a lot of potential, and he's showing good things.

What videos?

If they're just practice highlight videos (like every video on this site that I've seen) of course you'll see him getting burnt- they're WR highlights.

KJ from what I read has had over 10 batted passes so far and 2 ints him and carr could be shut downs if they work hard enough

KJ also has a blocked field goal. I dont know if he's playing against the second or third team. With Carr sitting out today, would it be KJ that comes in at first team corner?

"DB Chris Carr, who has excelled at training camp in the absence of several starters, is not practicing this morning. The reason for his absence has not been released."-cbs rapid reports, Carr has a minor injury but the fact that cbs who is more unbiased than br.com and baltimoresun noticed that Carr was doing well is encouraging

I've heard good things about KJ too. Well looks like we know what position he is going to try to make it as now. haha. No debate now if he is goiing to try to be a cb or safety.

I wanted him to play last yr as I watched frank walker constantly get penalties!!!
Frank Walker... penalties???? Nooooo....

Either way you look at it, we need every corner we still have walking to step up. It seems we just have bad luck when it comes to health with corners. This is a test... one we must overcome. Though, a fantastic pass rush (one that looks like we'll be having this year) can make a mediocre secondary look outstanding.

Gerard was hurt for the first 2 weeks of camp, which is why he didn't play in game 1. He just started practicing last week and probably spent his time getting back into football shape.

I expect to see a lot of KJ Saturday vs NYG. From what i heard he was very much in the mix heading into camp, but because of the injury he is far behind Williams and Miller.

With a strong showing vs NYG and then in the finale at STl, coupled with the fact that Washington is back, Carr, should be healthy now, Webb just got off PUP, and Williams and Miller have been showing promise, I think Gerard could push Fisher off the roster.

We'll have to see how it works out. Even though the PS looks likely for Gerard i still have high hopes for him.

Well then im pulling for a strong performance to knock Fisher off the roster. I know that sounds mean but i would rather have young guys then vets because they have more time to develope. Plus we know what we are getting in Fisher.

I thought K.J. was more of a safety? We have plenty of them.
He played corner in college and when he got here they moved him to safety. However, since we've had so many injuries at corner they moved him back. That's about as much as I know about it.

Pretty much his main position is CB but as insurance policy we moved him to saftey. It never hurts to be able to play more than one position.

That about sums it up. Gerard is natural at the CB position, but because of the numbers last year, the Ravens wanted to give him a shot to make the team by converting him to safety.

As far as him pushing Fisher off the roster. Like i said when Fisher was first signed, he's just insurance in case Washington and Webb had set backs, and niether of the young guys like Williams or Gerard proved to be able to handle a role in the secondary.

I think everyone in the Baltimore ares is excited about the promise of Cary Williams, and if K.J Gerard can even come close to that over the next 2 preseason games, I look for him to make the 53 man roster.

Washington, Webb, Carr, Williams, Gerard, is who I ultimately being our CBs this year. Miller will most definitely be apart of the team but as a practice squad member. Now because of the 2 game suspension of Williams, Miller will probably make the 53 man roster, but be bumpped down once Williams comes back for Cle.

Usually i'd say the Ravens would keep 6 CBs, but with 5 quality safeties on the roster, i don't see 6 CBs making it through. Nakamura can be a really good Dimeback.
