Yeah I just heard the same thing.
I don't think it'll be a big deal for the Ravens.
In fact, it might hurt the Bengals locker room.

This could either be a blessing in disguise or a horrible stroke of luck for the Ravens.

I'm inclined to believe the former. We're already past the "third time's a charm" phase with T.O. in terms of his track record as a locker room malcontent, so given how old habits die hard, it's only a matter of time before Owens is back to his old ways.

He wasnt terrible last year, and him and Ocho are like best friends so I dont think it will hurt the locker room (just watch Ocho's dating show, T.O is like his best friend). So it will only help them. However, Bengals are probably going to release Bryant in 3...2...1...

I was getting anxious for the new season, but after recent events with our team and our opponents, I'm growing worried.

Simply put a ploy by unpopular owner Mike Brown to put cheese coney filled behinds in seats and create a buzz to avoid last minute blackouts once again. I look forward to the mid season implosion.

T.O is what? Going to be 37?

T.O has been a headache on every team he's played on. Once he doesn't get the ball enough, the game is over and the crying begins.

Statistically, it doesn't look like he's improving the last few seasons. Receptions: 85, 81, 69, 55. Yards: 1,180, 1,355, 1,052, 859. Touchdowns: 13, 15, 10, 5...

Schedule wise: The Bengals have a first place schedule and the last time I checked ... the AFC North isn't exactly the easiest place to play.

What am I saying? I'm not worried.

Why? I'm not saying the Bengals pose no threat to the Ravens but it isn't like they brought in Andre Johnson.

The real reason TO was signed by Cincy

A ploy by unpopular owner Mike Brown to put cheese coney filled behinds in the seats and create a buzz in hopes of avoiding possible last minute blackouts once again. Thus is why the usually silent owner was pushing this one versus the coach or GM
I look forward to the mid season implosion. :obliviongate:

I remember T.O. saying if he got signed by the Bengals he would change his name to Ochouno. Also, if you watched ESPN Chad was on there saying all of their games got moved to pay per view :P but I think Vh1 just bought the rights of all the Bengals games.

Seriously though, I think this is a great move both for Cincy and Owens. It would be a great place for Owens to retire from especially since his good friend Chad is on the team.

Now as far as the Bengals releasing Bryant? No Way!!! T.O. was only signed for one year for only 2 mil (4 mil with incentives). Bryant will remain on that team for the next 4.

I'm aware of that, but we are the same team that they beat last year, defensively. Sure we got some new guys on the field, but the thing that worries me is our secondary. Even in the games we lost last year, we had Ed Reed. How are we to fare without Ed Reed? Now that they add Bryant and Owens. We all know Owens is a good receiver and physical as is Ocho. I just hope everyone shows up to play because if they do, I'm sure we can win. I have faith in Zibby and hopefully Hamln comes into play as well as our other guys at CB.

I'm just worried at the fact that our secondary isn;t going to be the greatest come that time.

Yeah that's the only thing that worries me. If we don't get pressure on Carson. Our secondary is going to get owned.

But this is also a Bengals squad that, while upgraded from last year, doesn't know how to win consistently yet.

The law of averages doesn't apply to any Bengals team yet because none of the rosters they've fielded have produced back-to-back winning seasons in the past two decades and have not posted back-to-back playoff berths since the early '80s.

Every time the Bengals experience success, expectations are raised the following season, only to be deflated by some horrible stroke of misfortune.

Until the Bengals can do what the Ravens and Steelers have in putting together consecutive playoff seasons, there's no reason for anyone to say that they are guaranteed to be a better team than the previous season.

Sure, they'll be a legitimate threat as they always are in the division, putting up a tough fight in every rivalry game. But to expect the Bengals to win both meetings next season is to virtually crown them division champions again -- and that's something you can't do in the offseason for any team, even the Ravens.

Touche. I just can't wait until preseason and we get a nice look at our secondary! However, since I live in the Cinci area, I'll be hearing the hype machine day in and day out. And the bandwagon will slowly begin to fill up. sigh.

I don't dispute they had a very impressive draft if all pans out
As far as the hype machine that is every year out there until they pull the monumental choke job and insist everyone gets fired. I worked out there in DooDeyville for over 2 years and use to let the locals have it in purple mode.

I don't see how the locker room will implode. Carson and Chad was lobbying for him to get there. Him and Chad are best friends. If Chad were to score a TD and pull out a crazy celebration, I'm pretty sure that'll motivate T.O. to be even better on the next drive to score a TD and vice versa.

All that against a bad looking secondary in Week 2.

Since Mason and Boldin will be tied up with Hall and Joseph, let's hope Stallworth makes a fool out of Pacman Jones or one of our TEs and Ray Rice show up to play.

Watch him and Ocho fight! TO wants to be the avatar and face of the franchise everywhere he goes and Ocho won't let that happen. Now we got two people to knock out! lol

Isn't he usually peaceful in his first year on a new team?

I am inclined to agree that this could turn out to be a good thing. Maybe all of the talking heads will praise Cincy and get that "Nobody believes in us" mentality back in Baltimore.

That's what I'm hoping for, I want that under dog role back it fits the Ravens better. All I have to say is that for the money they paid Bryant, his knees must be worse than they thought because they wouldn't have signed TO. Maybe Bryant starts out on the PUP list for the Bengals or worst case ends up on IR because of his knees. Something is much more wrong with Bryant for them to do this, other wise TO would still be a Free Agent since the Bengals were the only ones who wanted him.

Also Note to Cincy, a passing attack will only get you far, sure it helped the Colts and Saints get to the Super Bowl but ultimately defense wins out in any scenario. Just ask Peyton Manning about Tracy Porter, defense still and always will win championships. This does nothing for the Bengals, and I'm not worried at all, I just gotta figure out how twice a year Carson is going to have time to find Chad, Bryant and TO and Gresham down field when Ngata, Pryce, Gregg, Ray, Suggs, JJ are leaving him on his back.

Bengals had a good running game last year to go along with a decent defense. Adding T.O. only improves them, to deny that you must be wearing your purple glasses guys. Thats not a bad combo, Bryant, Ocho and T.O. Ravens better sure up the secondary or it will be long games against the Bengals.

Totally true. I think they will pass on us like crazy. Remebering last years two meetings, I am not looking forward to this years meetings.

I figured I would post this here but the other teams who were interested in TO have been revealed.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/28/with-to-under-contract-the-names-of-the-other-interested-teams-emerge/
Beyond the Bengals and the Rams, the other interested teams were the Jets, Seahawks, and Raiders. The interest of Seattle and Oakland was preliminary in nature, and both dropped out before the process got too far along.
So he chose the Bengals over the Seahawks, Raiders, Jets and Rams... interesting. Surprised he didn't pick the Jets guess TO don't believe in the hype. Seattle I can understand but I guess he didn't want to play with TJ again. Oakland would have actually been a good place to go. The Rams I can understand, rookie QB. Wish he would have picked Oakland instead(so we wouldn't have to deal with him) but all well.

Man, I'm away from my laptop for one day, Owens signs with Cincinnati, and four topics pop up about the Cincinnati receiving corps. I knew it'd create a stir, but geez.

Anyways, Owens on the Bengals does not make me any more intimidated or worried of the Bengals. Like I said before, Owens is not the player he once was, regardless of if he's still the "locker room cancer" he was once seen as. His speed isn't what it once was. His hands aren't what they once were (even though he already had plenty of drops in his prime). Chad Johnson, Antonio Bryant, and Terrell Owens... oh well. Personally, I do not find that as scary as some people may. The least Owens can do to amuse me is change his last name to Ochouno like he originally said he would if he went to Cincy, just so I can see someone else make such a stupid decision like Johnson did.

Good, the media circus can watch Cincy's every move now. Time to stop worrying about what all the pundits think and just focus on our team. I'm sick of hearing how great we're gonna be. I want to see it, and I believe I will. Have fun with TO, Cincy!

How this doesn't worry someone on here is just crazy. T.O. is not the player he once was, but like Ray Lewis, he's still dang good. If Bryant is healthy enough, you'd have Johnson, Owens on the outside, and Bryant in the slot. Add in Gresham to the TE spot, and you have 4 playmakers in the passing attack. Add in Benson, and that gives you one heck of a balanced O. Add in Palmer, and it gets horrifying. Add in the Bengals underrated O-Line, and you have a nightmare. Add in their defense, and you have a team that gives people stains in their underwear.

All that to say, the Bengals are to be feared, whether you like it or not (I hate it, but still accept it). The Ravens will still win the Super Bowl though!
