Well a lot of people talk like Kindle is the starter. I know the question is pass rusher on passing situations, and I answer that.

I'm not worried about Kindle being down and having a lack of pass rush. I mean seriously why is it that he goes down and people think our pass rush is gone? Last I checked Suggs and JJ were the starters at OLB and Kindle is only going to be a backup. I don't understand this at all, this is being blown out of proportion and we'll have a good pass rush. Stop over reacting, what's next over reacting to Cody not passing the physical and needing a Nose Tackle when Gregg is the starter... just like everyone freaked out for nothing about CB situation people are over reacting to a backup going down.

It's time for Barnes to step his game up a notch anyway. I would say atleast around 7-9 sacks from him this year would be good and depending on how much playing time he gets, demanding a little more sacks would be reasonable. Barnes has been with the Ravens for how long now, 4-5 years? I know it took a while for some of our best LB's to finally start making a real impact for the team ( Adalious Thomas and Bart Scott: took them over like 4-5 yrs I believe ). JJ is decent and he plays like a true Raven and he is a remarkable player seeing that he converted from DT to OLB, neva heard of that type of conversion by a player ever....... but the fact remains that we need a speed rusher opposite of Suggs, especially considering that we have a D-Cordinator thats a " rush your front 4 to get pressure on the QB " type of guy. I wonder if Barnes has a better mental grasp on the game now b/c I would love for him to put on a little more weight and become our full-time OLB starter in the future anyway.

It has to be Barnes seeing as how he thrived in the minimal chances he got last year rushing the passer. It really is about time that he will get a chance to get a lot of playing time rushing the passer. If we give him sufficient playing time rushing the passer on 3rd downs I really wouldn't be surprised to see Barnes with at least 6 sacks. He showed he has the skills last year and what I have read from comments in reports on him he has improved quite a bit. Most of you are also forgetting that Kruger will get his playing time on the Dline and not the outside this year.

Wow! With all the criticizing of fellow-forum writers over nit-picky things to make an almost unimportant point, you are looking like Steeler's fans. Please don't embarrass yourself. We are better than that as Ravens' fans! You don't ever want to be mentioned by them in the same breath, trust me.

He's got a huge hill to climb but UDFA LB Albert McClellan has reportedly looked good so far. He played DE at Marshall and maybe he'll be this year's UDFA gem.

I'd love for him to be kept on the team, but is there room at the position? I guess he could fit in as Suggs' back up? I think if he stayed we'd have to make room. who's the odd man out? I'd assume Burgess.

"Antwan Barnes was spoken very highly of during OTA's by Ted Monachino and Greg Mattison. He's said to have gotten quicker, and the coaches say he has improved."

Enough said! My vote is for Antwan Barnes!

After reading reports, and going to the stadium practice today, I think our pass rush is excellent. Suggs looks fantastic. He got sack or two. Kruger looks to have improved tons. He did pretty good, especially with being blocked by Grubbs, or Oher most of the time. I think he notched two would-be sacks today. Looked good in the team drills. Barnes looks pretty good too. McClain was also looking good next to Ray, he did well in the inside pass rush. Even Ngata was lookin better in the pass rush. I think we have little to worry about on defense.

Agreed. I was practice too and all three QBs were hurried or flushed out multiple times.
