What Is Your Favorite Madden Ever?

Pound for pound, what do you think is the best edition of Madden ever? Obviously, the newest ones have superior graphics and gameplay but in its prime when each game first came out, which was your favorite? I have to say Madden 06. Good graphics for its time and an EXCELLENT franchise mode. I played it a lot until selling my regular xbox last year. What do you think?

I have to agree with you, Madden '06 on PS2 for me, it was the first madden I played and I believe that it is the best since. It was the game that really got me watching the NFL. I didn't really have an interest in the sport until I bought the game and have loved it ever since. Although it didn't have the graphics of the newer games, the franchise and superstar modes were great and took up much of my time.

I loved how the Madden games of today get outperformed by Madden games of yesterday in terms of game modes and features and stuff like that. If only those games had excellent graphics.... If 2K was still around, I think Madden would be 10x greater than what it is right now. Either that or gone forever.

I wouldnt know the first Madden I got was 03 with Marshall Faulk on the cover

I forget which ones had what.
Was 06 where they had special titles like "Bull rusher" with the bull symbol etc.? That one was pretty good.

On a side note, I wish someone would resurrect the music from GameDay 97.

Madden '05 was the best Madden, but still wasn't as good as the amazing NFL 2k5 (the game had NFL Primetime for crying out loud).

Wish they never gave EA the exclusive license.
