The fact that Franchise and Superstar modes are completely unchanged means I won't be getting Madden this year. I am pretty fed up of the status quo from EA.

when you don't have a direct competition from another franchise(be careful say his name three times he appears),you don't have to work harder then normal. If EA ever loses the liscense exclusive we may have contending NFL titles again and Madden might make better changes

Its nice you can stretch the field again, at least on All Pro...but the game virtually has no changes except no speed burst and more body control with the anolog stick, to the actual game play.

Just letting you guys know that Ian Cummings has announced that you will be able to use the old controls, rather than the strategy pad.

Here's the link to back-up what he's saying, since he didn't provide a source.
We do believe that this change is for the better, and that in the long run it delivers a much more positive experience to the gamers that are willing to try and adapt. Due to the overwhelming feedback however, we will be providing the old-style button commands as an option that can be enabled. We are currently targeting this change to be released around the first week of the NFL season as it will take some time to get through third party approvals. So now that it's out of the way, let's all try to sit back and have some fun with Madden NFL 11...after all, football season is almost here!
Looks like you'll have to live with the Strategy Pad for a month.

Yep, it's no coincidence that Madden 2005 was the best of the series, and when they got the exclusive license there was a huge drop-off in quality from there forward.

How sick was Madden 05, with the call in radio show in the background, player morale taken into effect for contracts, RFA's, Training Camps, it had it all...Im still waiting on a consistency rating from EA though...how hard is that.

IMO, EA needs to do a complete tear down. Scrap the current concept and just rebuild from the bottom. The good things got bad, the bad things got worse.

<Wonders at which point we'll all be able to buy one Madden game for our whole lives and just purchase roster updates online.>

Imagine the product you'll get then. EA isn't going to completely restart the Madden franchise.
