If you've already started playing the demo, are you experiencing a substantial amount of slowdown during the in-game instant replays as the game is attempting to bring up the playbook?

It was pretty substantial for me because it'd take about 5-10 seconds for the playcall menu to come back up; that's valuable game time being wasted, if the game clock is still ticking in real-time (I didn't look to see if it was)

I dont think you can mention the strategy pad enough as a con. I've got so used to calling my audibles without it that I cant tell you the exact button combination I use. No sprint is weird too, I know it more realistic, but I still hold down the R2 button. And for BALTIMOREFLACCO, who seams to be a bundle of negative, you can turn all the features you hate off, you know that? And adjust the speed differences between players. The only thing you cant is the strategy pad which I would expect to get patched with the option to turn it off.

Other then that, I like it.
I know I'm negative because I'm sponsored to play Madden, and the demo has shown me that I'm going to have to redevelop some of my skills that I have relied on for years which is really frustrating! lol

Professional gamers know how to change their strategies and adapt to new changes with yearly titles. Something you've gotta learn if you're going on the pro circuit.

You are completely correct, and I do understand that, but I still feel it was a completely unnecessary change to something that was not flawed. They should work on problems, such as the "tumbleweed" tackling problem, before they go and make changes to random things. Just my personal opinion.

At least the strategy pad is likely to reduce some of the nano-blitzing that we see online. It won't completely eliminate it because people will get used to the pad, but it'll make it harder with the quicker play-calling especially with the use of the accelerated clock.

It's basically a "live by the sword, die by the sword" proposition for nano-blitzers because they can still pull them off, but they have to essentially run the same play every time as they won't have time to adjust their coverages and still get the nano-blitz off. Though nano-blitzing, in practice, means getting to the QB literally as soon as the ball is snapped, there've been people who've found ways to overcome such abuses of the system and ran offenses successfully against the nano-blitz.

You'd be complaining if this was happening to you on a regular basis: YouTube

It essentially exploits an inherent flaw in the AI's blocking. Sure, that's EA's fault, but it also doesn't help when people use the exploit to produce inflated sack numbers instead of playing defense straight-up. -_-

So, I gave the demo a second chance after I hated it the first time, and I found a lot of things to like about it...

Suddenly...my PS3 bricked on me. Yellow Light of Death.

I'm PISSED. 2+ reliable years, so many great memories, and now, I might need a new PS3. Well...at least I can say it outlived my friends' Xboxes! -_-

you forgot the best part... where "The Sanchize" killed TheFranchise('s PS3)

There are many ways to counter nano blitzes. I enjoy when I play in tournaments and people use them. They only make it easier for me to win.

Here are the ways to beat people who have established themselves as nano blitzers.

1. FL screen no matter which shotgun formation will always counter nano blitzes. just shift your line to a pinch
2.Motion a tight end to where ever you think the blitz is coming from, and snap the ball as soon as he gets there. it gives you a blocker to counter the exact un-blocked rusher
3. Sluggo routes, in playbooks such as New England and Denver, will always go for large gains if the nano blitzer plays bump n run coverage, for sluggo routes are the only un-bumpable routes in the game.
4. Never go 5 wide, and always have a running back blocking in your backfield.
5.If none of these work, run the ball out of goalline. I know it's kind of cheap, but nano blitzes are more cheap, and goaline takes it apart.

Just trying to help you guys out if you are concerned about it!

How are difficulties? It is too hard or too easy or an actual realstic challenge?
From what little I played, Pro was tuned down to make it much easier for casual gamers. All-Pro and All-Madden feel just about right. All-Pro was made a little bit more difficult, but still manageable once you get into a rhythm on both offense and defense. All-Madden is enough of a challenge in that you have to adjust to the new gameplay elements and the speed of the game, but I'm sure that seasoned All-Madden players will be able to adjust fairly easily. I'm used to alternating between the two, but I might be stuck practicing in All-Pro for a couple of months before I graduate to All-Madden with this year's game.

I'll say that the pass defense AI is noticeably improved, from what I've seen. And because of the new locomotion feature, mismatches at WR and CB must really be kept in mind, as slower WRs do not automatically catch up to overthrown deep balls anymore; instead, that overthrown pass could easily be intercepted by a CB, assuming he keeps up with the route.

Ok well I guess on those 3rd down situations I'll drop Boldin to 3rd on the depth chart in the slot and put Stallworth as the #1 on the outside to even things up a bit.

Is anyone else experience A LOT of dropped balls on All-Madden?
That's exactly why I never played All-Madden for Madden 10. It frustrated me so much on 3rd down to have a wide open receiver drop a very easy pass.

You've Been Struck By a Smooth Criminal. Are You Okay, Okay, Okay, Annie?? Annie are You Okay, Are you Okay, Are you Okay annie??

Besides that statement, that video is the clear definition of nano blitzing at its finest. Hate it when people do that online. Its like they don't know how to play straight up defense. But anyways, it looks like this game is going to be okay after all, but I don't know if its better than NCAA 11. Can someone shine a light on which game is better??

From what little I've played of both, I'll say that, at the end of the day, you should purchase the game that more closely falls in with your viewing habits. However, if you're a big enough fan of both college and the NFL, you should probably pick up NCAA over Madden this year. The gameplay is smoother and quicker in NCAA and the Dynasty mode is deeper (even though there's very little that's changed in that regard from NCAA 10). Madden is the same game it was as 2010 (which was radically different from 2009 and worlds away from 2008, contrary to some belief) but with better presentation, improved commentary (that still needs improvement), and slightly improved AI. Franchise Mode is almost completely untouched, I believe.

I liked the new receiver animations, most of them were in madden 10 but they just increased the frequency of how many times they would break into it on the sidelines. Now I can actually throw the ball close to the sideline and the receiver will catch it, or try.

I also liked the new run blocking animations, looks a lot more fluid and natural.

But is the game worth 60 bucks? I really don't think so. I'll be doing what I've always done with Madden games and buying it for 30 bucks on black friday.

hey franny I believe I will be one who keeps up more with pros then college

guess I find it less organized then the nfl
If you enjoyed last year's Madden, you'll like this one, but just don't go into it expecting it to be radically different from last year's. The pacing is different, the presentation is different, the AI is slightly improved, but that's about it. No innovations, and arguably, the strategy pad is a horrible idea given how quickly the computer snaps the ball on offense and the limited time before snaps to begin with. But, the strategy pad is something that you could get used to, and there's rumblings that EA may release a patch to remove it or make it optional shortly after launch.

I wouldn't consider it a horrible game just because it's unchanged from the year before, I just wouldn't be able to justify paying a full $60 for it -- even though I'll likely do it anyway once I get my PS3 back.
