I like the locomotion controls I broke 15 tackles in 1 game with Greene

The stick you mean? I haven't figured that out yet. But "B" still spins the ball carrier.

Can't get the demo, but I want to know if you all like it or not, so I'm going to ask you to please give it a rating 1-10, and maybe a description on it please. Thanks!

I love Madden 11 so far! I like the way it looks and plays. Doritoe's Crunch time and Gus Johnson are good additions to the game. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

I downloaded the Madden 11 demo today, and I am thoroughly disappointed. Being a highly expierienced and successful Madden player, I believe EA has gone wrong, in fact, so does around 90% of the community on their forums. Heres is my review:

Pros:
*Graphics
*Presentation (Gus Johnson is awesome)
*New catch animations on the sidelines and end-zones

Cons:
*Strategy pad is the worst "improvement" of any Madden to date. It makes it next to impossible to make the pre-snap adjustments you need to make. I am completely puzzled on why EA did this. "If it aint broke, don't fix it."
*Despite what EA says, the blocking is STILL not fixed
*Usering zones is next to impossible
*Gameplay is too slow
*Gameflow is useless to anybody with experience in the series.
*The coordinator is really anoyying and repetitive

6/10

8.5/10 (without the strategy pad)

I am seriously considering canceling my pre-order at Gamestop, and picking up NCAA 11, for I hear great things about it.

What do you guys think?

I will be putting out another video featuring my whole detailed rant about the demo soon.

Enjoy!

The game is so much better than the last one. I was a beast at 09, and 10 frustrated me so much, the feel was terrible, and I sucked at it. The graphics and tackling was better, but I hated the gameplay. (I know for many it wasn't like this, this is just what happened to me)

11 provides smoother gameplay, better (although still can be improved) game speed imo, better graphics (obviously), better (although still not great) blocking, and a way to rush faster with gameflow.

I do agree with the critique of the stratagey pad, but it is more visually pleasing and I have a feeling that once we all warm up to it it will be just as if not more effective than the last thing.

The one thing that really pisses me off about this game is Braylon Edwards is WAY too good.

Other than that, the game gets a 10 out of 10, my favorite Madden yet (accounting for the year it was made). And I love that the demo has 5 minute quarters, not stupid 2 minute quarters.

Oh yeah 2 more cons i left out.....1.what's the deal with punt returns. It feels like you have the speed of a linemen compared to the coverage???? 2. Why is it so easy to throw the ball deep, even on all madden difficulty??? I'm getting 60 yard gains everytime, and I just feel like its going to be a real problem online.

Just played two games on the demo, not a bad game
I am liking gameflow for it keeps it feeling more real, but also like the fact you can jump to your playbook.
Hate the fact I have to use the Colts or Jets tho 2 teams I really dont wanna be,and could they have made Rex any fatter?

I will say this, the sideline catch was awesome, not sure if it is completely new(it's the first time I have seen it),threw a pass to the sidelines and Keller stopped his run to tip toe the sidelines for a catch and clock staoppage. The double use of the sticks for the runners is nice to.I will be getting this on the 10th,and will enjoy playing with a team I actually like lol

Pros: Graphics better
More fluid movement
Deep ball is back so it helps to take away trying to throw into congested zones
Great idea with making the R3 control jukes, spins, hurdles,etc.....
Dynamics of the game is improved

Cons: Strategy Pad is the worst
Still too many broken tackles
Did I mention the Strategy Pad?
Rocket Catch still in the game, how hard can it be to take this crutch out the game EA?

Overall, best Madden on Next Gen systems to this date. More realistic in alot aways, can't way to play with those Ravens. Still can be tons of improvement on the game but I would rate it around a 9 on a scale to 10.

I dont think you can mention the strategy pad enough as a con. I've got so used to calling my audibles without it that I cant tell you the exact button combination I use. No sprint is weird too, I know it more realistic, but I still hold down the R2 button. And for BALTIMOREFLACCO, who seams to be a bundle of negative, you can turn all the features you hate off, you know that? And adjust the speed differences between players. The only thing you cant is the strategy pad which I would expect to get patched with the option to turn it off.

Other then that, I like it.

So, I gave the demo a second chance after I hated it the first time, and I found a lot of things to like about it...

Suddenly...my PS3 bricked on me. Yellow Light of Death.

I'm PISSED. 2+ reliable years, so many great memories, and now, I might need a new PS3. Well...at least I can say it outlived my friends' Xboxes! -_-

I'm so sorry, Franny :( I'd probably cry if my PS3 ever bricks, it's one of the originals... with backwards-compatibility (since my PS2 bit the dust). I miss the days when systems dying was practically unheard of.

Anyways, about Madden. GameFlow is better than I thought, although I'll still probably use the playbook like always. The Strategy Pad is a nifty thought... but poorly (and I mean very poorly) executed. It's habit for me to hit the shoulders and Y button to move my line and secondary around. Not to mention, it takes too much time that you really don't have to get anything done with the pad.

Mine was manufactured in December 2007 but was purchased new in April 2008. Lasted me a good 2+ years of reasonably heavy gaming in a small bedroom and gave me lots of weekends of enjoyment when I used to be able to lug it to work and play off my laptop. I'll miss it. :(

My first PS3 died like 6 months after I got it in August 07. Sent it back, got a new one that has been mine ever since.

Also, something interesting about the demo, the overtime rules follow the new playoff ones. So when I kicked a field goal, I thought I won, but the Jets got the ball back.

I was contemplating asking, but I realized that it's one of those things where it's a process that may (keyphrase: may) need repeating every so often. It's a hit-or-miss process in terms of its long-term success, as with any repair that's done, professionally or otherwise. I'd just rather send it back to Sony with the chance I may end up getting new parts or the outside chance I could get a whole new (well, refurbished) system entirely.

And there's that rare chance that they could refund the cost of the repair as an act of goodwill; they did that for me when I sent my fat PS2 in for repair. All I paid was $5 for shipping.

One thing I've heard people do... specificly for the Xbox is buy a new one (I believe this works for the PS3 as well), switch the serial number stickers from the old one to the new one, and return it.

That's the easy part haha. I ripped open my ps3 after it burnt out thinking it wasn't going to be that hard and it kind of isn't, but putting the thing back together will be impossible for me haha. Fix mine I even have that silver paste your suppose to put on the CPU haha!

Stupid slims and no backwards compatibility...

Yeah, I was gonna try it myself, but I kept reading that the hard part was putting it back together. Honestly, I'd rather just shell out the dough and wait a couple weeks, than sit there for an hour or so and attempt to piece things back together. I just don't have that kinda patience.

That, and weighing my options is essentially helping me bide my time til I eventually figure out whether i'll purchase a new PS3 now or next year like I had planned. My original plan was to buy a secondary system and then have that become my primary when my nephew earns a PS3 as a reward for his grades (he significantly improved his grades after I made that deal with him but was just two marks shy), but now it looks like I'll just get this one repaired and give him the refurbished when I buy a second one.

Yeah Thermal compound. I get more broken slims than anything. I honestly get more broken ps3's than xboxes.
