119 posts in this topic

Sergio Kindle Just suffered a head injury by falling down two flights of stairs. He is in stable condition. I am not sure how serious the injury is, but i dont think that it should carry over into the regular season.

Until the official cause of the accident is released, it's best to refrain from speculating what the cause was and creating undue drama and rumors.

The fact that camp starts tomorrow and he's still in Texas is enough for me to have my doubts about this rookie's attitude and motivation.

And please, spare me all the "Ozzie knows best, he never fails, blah blah blah" stories.

But I do hope he's okay, and has a speedy recovery.

Why does this accident lead you to question his attitude and/or motivation? No details have yet been released as to how this accident happened.

That's a bit of a reach, don't you think, and even more of one to criticize Ozzie because of this? Besides, why would he already need to be in Baltimore a few days before camp starts?

Appears to me that you are speculating.

Per the BR News press release (below), this happened this past Thursday night, not on a Saturday night as you stated in your post.

The DWI was in 2007--it is confusing He incurred a serious concussion 13 months ago and was hospitalized after he drove his car into a dormitory building at 0300
He left the scene of the accident and claimed he wasn't drinking but rather texting while driving and was admitted to the hospital later that afternoon. A second serious CHI in in 13 months is serious and there could be residual and compounding this one.

Allright you win, I deleted my speculation post.

Will try my best not to speculate.

But he was arrested for a DWI on a Saturday night. This incident occured on a Saturday night. Last Saturday night before going to camp mind you.... Hmmmm....Seriously how to do you just "fall down two flights of stairs".

I'm pretty sure it wasn't intentional. People do slip. It happens. Just because he's a professional athlete doesn't mean he isn't prone to mishaps.

I wish Kindle a fast recovery, as much as we need him in camp and signed, he needs to stay away and just rest and get healthier and come into TC when he is healthy, we don't need him coming in right after this head injury and doing some drills and hurting himself so soon after suffering a head injury. Get well Kindle and hope he will be ready to go for the season!

According to PFT Kindle is expected to make full recovery and his contract should be done mid week!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/25/sergio-kindle-expected-to-make-full-recovery/
Kindle, currently in stable condition, is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a head injury, according to the Baltimore Sun and Carroll County Times. A league source told Mike Florio that Kindle should get the usual contract for his rookie slot, and Jamison Hensley writes that a contract should be worked out by the middle of this week.
Hopefully it's nothing too serious and he is much better soon, although head injuries are nothing to joke about.

Normal people and proffessional athletes do not fall 2 flights of stairs!
There is something else to this story but knowone is talking and that's the problem!

I hope he recovers quickly, but this is looking like a very risky pick. Besides his injury history he:

Was arrested for DUI (2007?)

Crashed his car into an apartment (2009)

Suffered a concussion after falling down two flights of stairs.

I hope he comes back healthy and I REALLY hope it was a freak accident and not from a week long bender. Granted we have depth at the position , do you guys think this may cost him a roster spot?

You are right it could be his fault for doing something completely dumb, he could have merely tripped over a shoelace, or he could have been pushed. I guess we will find out soon enough

If it was one flight of stairs, I'd say sure people trip down stairs, etc. But two flights? You have to do something special to go down that second flight. Hell I would know!

<Let's go a bit easy on the speculation. A man's reputation is at stake.>

My first concern is with his safety. We don't know how this happened, but I'm sure it will be disclosed at the appropriate time.

No way. He'll be in camp ASAP, and he'll have a significant impact this season. Book it.

For all we know he could of been packing to head up here that night or Friday and tripped over his suitcase. As for the two flights, that is strange.

Perhaps he fell down the first flight of stairs, got himself up off the floor but was so dazed and concussed he couldn't keep his balance and he ended up falling down the other flight of stairs. Who knows, it's possible!

Lets wait for Sergios explanation before we label him a risky pick or think something is up just because he fell down some stairs. <_<

Get well soon Sergio! :)

Now that's a solid point!

Seriously though, we need something to talk about.
