Some interesting people on here, but this will most likely get moved tothe Free Agency area instead of general discussions.

took care of that list about a month ago ;) --in the FA section.

But responding to the post, I would really not mind having Lance Briggs for linebacker. I mean really, Jarrett Johnson ain't no superstar, so getting a man like him would really solidify the defense. just a thought though.

no, we can replace Jarret/Sizzles with Barnes.

NO!

Barnes is not as good a Suggs at this point.

and he may never be.

And just imagine having both Barnes and Suggs in their prime rushing the passer, that would be one monster tandem.

Yeah, plus it'd be hard to replace 2 end/linebackers with 1 linebacker.

Suggs is still very young--it's possible we haven't seen his prime yet. Just imagine him getting back to form next season, but even better. Scary thought, especially with Barnes coming along.

And I don't know why, but I think every team needs a guy like Jarret Johnson.

That would be tough...

And I suppose if you cut him in half he wouldnt be that much use anymore...

Well, Jarret is a gritty player, but he just doesn't have the athetic ability that Adailus thomas did, to replace.

Can't argue with that. But his grit is astounding, and he can still have a role should someone else start in his place.

I would like to see us sign Nnamdi Asomugha. I think that this kid has some serious talent and it could flourish here in Baltimore. I think that we should use the draft to get a good O-lineman, and as far as our QB goes, we should develope Troy Smith. Just in case you missed it:

CB problem: Sign Nnamdi Asomugha or another good CB. I think that Asomugha has the most to offer since he's young and talented.

OL problem: Draft a good O-Lineman early. Maybe trade up to get Long.

QB problem: We could always draft a 2nd or 3rd rounder with upside, but in the end, we need to develope Troy Smith.

I'm not an expert, but this is my take on it.

People talk about Adailus Thomas like he's one of the best linebackers of all time and unreplaceable.

Lets look at the numbers:

Career Totals (Full) Solo tac: 361

Assiste tac: 96

Total tac: 457

Sacks: 45.0 286

Interceptions: 7

For a guy who has been in the league 8 years and has been seeing regular playing time, on defense and special teams, for atleast 5 of those seasons, his numbers are average at best and very replaceable. Thomas fit well with our defense but he would not have been half the player that he was if it wasnt for our defensive staff molding him. Jarret is still young and with the right coaching, I think he will be a better player then Thomas.

There are more things going on in football than just numbers. A classic example is interceptions that aren't the QB's fault (WR tipping the ball, etc). Now applying that to AD... Billick said that if the Ravens defense had a heart, it was Ray Ray. If the defense had a brain, it was AD. That says something right there. Now I don't know all the intangibles that players bring to the table, but he undoubtedly brought a lot.

Lastly, your stats make no mention of passes defended, which I'm sure he has plenty of.

i think the Ravens main focus when this does come around to Signing players back on the roster....will have their priorities set straight and without any doubt or any kind of question. i truthly believe that the Ravens main Goal as of right now, is to sign ALL of its TOP priority players so that everything will be done and over with and no more of this worrying frome the Fans will need to be talked about anymore.

which means Billick was not only a bad coach, he's not an ace at biology, either. The brain of the defense would either be Reed or Lewis would have to be a brain and a heart.

Reed and Lewis are the guys calling audibles, telling guys where they have to be.

what did AD do to warrant being a 'brain'? leave? that's not the kind of brain that I want in my head OR on my team.

Total number of passes defended is 49.

Keith Bulluck and Brain Urlacher where both drafted the same year as Thomas and they both have well over 50. Sorry, but that still says average to me.

I would like Randy Moss and Asante Samuels right now if we get them our offense and defense star players are...

Defense

Trevor Pryce

Ray Lewis

Ed Reed

Haltoti Ngta

Asante Samules

Mabey Bart Scott

Chris Mcalister

Mabey Samari Rolle

But Asante would replace Samari.

Offense

Willis Mcaghee

Randy Moss

Jonathan Ogden

Todd Heap

Mabey Derrick Mason
