Romo Ravens

I absolutely love Best. I watch a lot of Berekely games, and even though he had an injury history, he's just way to talented to not be considered in fantasy leagues. His line is a little shaky, but he has the same ability Jamaal Charles has. Draft him with confidence, which I think ed.s52 did.

Kevin Smith is also coming off a torn ACL I think it was, so Best won't have to share carries at the start of the season. The only knock on him is that he plays in a division full of run stuffers. But either way, Best is a good option.

Where would you all rank Jahvid Best? Just wondering because Yahoo has him in the top 30, and ESPNE has him somewhere past 50
On my BPA list I have him at 50. 1 spot before Matt Forte and a couple spots behind Jonathan Stewart.

But this is based for a ppr league. If you are drafting for a non-ppr league then Best's value would be less because he won't get the touchdowns.

I rather take a Ben Tate before Best.
I think Ben Tate if he starts would be the better back. But the problem is if your drafting right now, you do not know what Houston's running situation is going to look like.

Best looks like he will be the starter and Smith will be on the PUP. You can't deny having a pure starter.

Wait are we talking in general ranking? Like with all positions, or are we ranking him out of all RunningBacks?

I hope that the people who are making key trades look at the schedules before making the trade. I don't want any teams to implode a week into the season because all of their RB's, QB's and WR's have the same bye's, lol.

I liked Kevin Smith a lot last year and he underperformed a lot last year. Yes Best might be a better rb, but most of the time, rookie rb's and rbs on bad teams struggle. I'm just hesitant on Best because of the situation he is falling into.

So I was bored, so I decided to compile a little information on all of our teams. Below is a list of the ranking of each team's players based on ESPN's "Projected Points". For each team, I did two quarterbacks, three running backs, three wide receivers, two tight ends, kicker and defense. It's interesting to see how each team stacks up at a given position. I know PuRock and myself play matchups for defenses, if I missed anyone else on that aspect, I'm sorry.

Man you were bored. Good work though. I assume you've picked up the trade me and Romo have. Since I now have the #4 WR.

And I beg to differ about the #1 TE. Dallas Clark is a beast.

Yup, unless it ends up getting vetoed, I did factor in your trade with Romo.

ESPN has Gates scoring 3 more points overall than Clark lol I can see that though, Gates should see even more receptions with Jax not on the field.

ATD, do you mean the Packers are 7th? Where would the Eagles be? I have them too.

And btw, a new trade for Rivers is in. vote on it if you haven't already

But he should also receive more attention. I know that position placements are mostly based on personal preference.

Looks like my tight ends are the best part about my team. :P
Your RBs are. 3rd and 19th is a good tandem.

I'm assuming Ray Rice is also ranked higher over MJD. MJD is going to end this season as the #1 fantasy back.

Your defenses are 7th and 8th. Eagles are 7th, Packers are 8th. Like I said, these aren't my rankings, just ESPN.com's based on projected points.

I guess my team really isnt as bad as it looks to be.
It's your Wide receivers that you have to worry about. Your ranked 37th and 41st.

You should have held onto Calvin Johnson #4.

Well I think the forum has 4 legit leagues going on right now.

ER20's league
ATD's league
Romo's league
JO_75's league

Imagine if you can claim champion in all 4 leagues!
Only reason I won't be winning all 4 is because I didn't sign up for the 2 ESPN leagues.

I'd actually love to have a team where my starters share the same bye. You're guaranteed a loss that week but you're playing with your best team for every week of the season except for one.

Santonio Holmes & Steve Slaton for Derrick Mason ?
Isn't Holmes missing 4 games?
Yes, Holmes will be missing 4 games but I'd think long and hard before saying no to that deal. Tate has some catching up to do due to injury meaning Slaton and Foster will likely start the year as the first two RBs. Slaton will be the change-of-pace and 3rd down specialist but he's a more talented RB than Foster and may get more carries.

Here's a Pro Football Weekly article advocating why Ray Rice should be in the discussion regarding the best RB in fantasy and maybe even at the very top:

http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/07/28/fitzs-four-course-fantasy-feast

Maybe Wacko passing on Peterson wasn't as bad a move?

We're talking undefeated ER20, never take a week off.

Boy I can't wait for the draft tomorrow where I can keep Ray Rice! I'm just praying for a decent pick and not the same one I had last Sunday (10th).

And to all, how is this Rivers trade lookin?

I dropped Ravens D/ST. So if any of you want it you can have it. Then again only ravens fans would want the Ravens D....Oh wait....

Im going with PuRock's idea of Defense matchups. lus I picked up a Raiders WR Louis Murphy. the kid was 4th Rd, outshined the 1st Rd pick DHB and was very good with Bruce Gradkwoski as the QB. I can't wait to see how Murphy does with Campbell at QB and an good O-line to give more time Campbell to make better passes. Murpy could definitely have a breakout year

Wow I'm impressed. I didn't think you'd be willing to give up the Ravens D. They are a solid squad as they do force turnovers-I'm sure somebody in our league is going to jump all over them. But they also have a lot of tough matchups.

Too bad you didn't realize you wanted to go with this strategy during the draft. You could've gotten a RB/WR with that pick instead.

Louis Murphy though I wouldn't count on too much. If anything you want to watch Chaz Shillens on the Raiders. Murphy will probably be delegated as the slot guy. Chaz has great size speed and hands. He's a matchup nightmare for defenses.

Wacko... why did you drop Ravens D. Defensive matchups is good, but elite defenses are still spectacular to have especially when the have a couple easy games on their schedule (like Buffalo and the Browns twice). I will take the best defense in the league over a weaker D playing a weaker O any day of the weak. Especially because you never know when youngsters break out (like possibly Massaqoi or Harrison from the Browns, Gibson or Bradford from the Rams, Freeman or Benn from the Bucs). Some past examples... MSW for the Jags, Chris Johnson for the Titans, Tom Brady way back for the Pats, etc.

Im now going to have arguably 3 top 5 defenses. (Although I would put the Eagles at 6 or 7).

Anybody want a Defense.
