Talked to one of the Admins, it's a nice idea but not feasible right now. So yeah, we got shot down! :(

Why, you don't have the bandwidth? :pcshot:

Most likely not. However, I'd say it's more of a data storage and money issue. Look how many accounts are on the forums. Hypothetically speaking, if everyone one of those forum accounts were to create a BaltimoreRavens.com e-mail account and use it actively, that's an absolutely massive amount of information that would be required to be stored on the site servers. The nature of the site isn't built for that sort of workload. Unless they were to buy dedicated servers strictly to handle e-mail accounts. That, of course, would require those running the site to spend more money for the hardware and additional coding and scripting.

I'm not going to jinx it but the Draft day and Game Day lockout issues have gotten better with some changes and I agree Demon even though we have not been told that,

The other option is that I think google will let you use gmail with your own domain name. Maybe they could host the email portion. Maybe if you give them an link\icon.

Maybe the machines themselves do, but I really doubt that's what they pay for hosting each year...if so, they're getting gyped; this site should be running a lot faster if they're spending that much money. Then again, the software they use isn't as fast as vBulliten, maybe that has something to do with it.

could definitely be the case if the main site shares the same server as the forum subdomain.
Hopefully the site moves away from flash, especially with HTML5 components becoming widespread.

As a programmer myself, I hate old computer systems. Its 2000 freaking 10 people, update your computers already! No more CRT monitors, no more Windows XP, no more Internet Explorer prior to version 8! causes too many problems and headaches. Thanks!
